This thread is funny. The guys with GT500s want to switch to the H, and the guys with the GTs want to switch to the X. I most recently had a 07 GT and now own a 08 GT500 with countless exhaust set-ups on both.

Here's a simple explanation:

- The X flows and little better and yield approximately 2-4 extra hp depending on engine, mods, etc., and has a higher tone (sound).
- The H is “slightly” more restrictive with 2-4 less hp depending on engine, mods, etc., and generates a lower/deeper tone.

I personally installed an X on my GT and was actually disappointed. I will be installing a PHRP H-pipe soon on my GT500. Note: the KRs and the 11/12 GT500s now come w/the H… primarily due to improved sound.

My advice to you is to just keep your H. The hp difference in negligible and the H sounds better… w/any axle-back. BTW, I have the Roush O/R Extreme cat-back system, and they sound awesome. All that I’m missing is the H.

I bet it did, but there are countless after-market X's with cats and high flow cats. It's not exclusive to just cat-less...

I also say stick with your H and get the Roush O/R........I absolutely loved that combo when I had it on mine - best **** sounding combo period....then later you can do headers !!!!!!

I heard that from the heartthrob clip. I was surprised to hear that.

Ran a Bassani x-pipe on my 03 Cobra and my 04 Mach 1. So many complements from ppl saying how insane it sounded. No bassani for the 2011 yet so I bot a Magnaflow X-Pipe with cats. I am a BIG x-pipe fan because I like the ripping rasp sound. Many ppl compared my Mach 1 to a Lambo sound thanks to the Bassani. Keep in mind to each their own, but either way you cant go wrong with any 4V mustang and a good exhaust. And I second that H-Pipes are old school now.

True old school was two straight pipes with NO crossover.

A crossover pipe of any kind is better than no crossover.
It balances the exhaust flow.
