Red face Well, the alarm works. ;)

When all else fails, read the Duh-Rections!

Took a trip in the Mustang and had my dog with me for the first time since I got the car. Stopped to get gas and such, so after I took the dog out to the grassy area to do his thing, I lock him in the car and start for the building to take care of my things... I get halfway across the parking lot and my car alarm goes off!

-I should point out it's the factory alarm system, and I've never had an alarm in one of my cars before.

I run back to the car, turn off the alarm, then head inside again. I come back out and the alarm is going off again!

Okay... something's going on here. I finally get out the Owner's Manual and check out the alarm system instructions. IT HAS AN INTERIOR MOTION-SENSOR! Sorry for the noise, dog!

To lock the car without activating the motion-sensor, lock the car using the key in the driver's door lock.

Carry on.

Found this out with my 2008 when I tried to put a pizza in the locked car through the open windows. Made me jump and look like a fool and an idiot!

if your window is open and you set the alarm, anyone walking by the car will activate the alarm.

Poor pup. Good thing you let him do his business before the alarm went off.

It's not THAT sensitive. I literally had to put myself inside the car quite a ways to get the alarm to go off.

The dog is fine. Fortunately it's just the car horn, and not a loud siren!

Mine has gone off with the windows down in my garage when I'm doing laundry 15 feet away... Pretty sensitive
