Wednesay's teaser pic is early
I'm a little upset about the lack of a 6 speed. The more I see of the 2010 the more it looks like my GT with with a different exterior and interior. Even though I don't love the looks of the Camaro SS I might get one because it's going to be bad *** to drive.
you should wait on the 2011 stang. itllbe cheaper and just as fast as the SS
1) I thought we all knew that we were getting the 4.6L and 5 speed for 2010. The new stuff isn't coming until 2011. Why is everyone so surprised?
2) I'm pretty sure they are only revealing the interior shots right because they're saving good pictures of exterior for the end. THINK ABOUT THIS: They are going to show the entire car in November. They are not going to show any revealing pictures of the car until 1-2 weeks before they actually show the entire car. If they showed ANY exterior shots that showed us what the car really looked like now, we would have nothing to look forward to at the auto show.
I'm 99% sure they won't show anything that will make us really excited until the last 1-2 pictures.
Also, as a result I've stopped paying attention and moved on with my life. I'm getting alot more work done at work and I'll come back in November.

I'm just enjoying my 08. It'll take a lot to get me to trade it. For just a tiny bit of the depreciation plus a premium on any really good '11 -- I can get the Whipple done -- and have a better, faster, more unique car. Plus, I just like that white hurst ball better than any aluminum shifter ****.
So why bother calling 2010 the "Year of the Mustang" when we're going to get a carryover powertrain and engine?? I am one of those people who will NEED a car and will basically decide between a 2009 and 2010 GT. As much as I would love to wait for 2011, I can't without buying and driving some POS used car in between. I still think that the window sticker we saw in a spy shot was to throw people off. I'm not saying were gonna get the 5.0 for 2010, because it doesn't look that way, but WHY redesign every single panel, inside and out, only to give it the exact same engine from the prior year. Why risk losing face and inevitably sales, in the year that Chevy is producing a brand new platform Camaro?? It looks like Ford is almost trying to come up short if the powertrain remains the same for the 2010 Mustang.

I think the point everyone is missing...
.... the 2010+ was going to have the BOSS engines in them.
That got canned, and I don't remember at what point Ford said "ok lets build a big bad 5.0"
Either way, whether or not they could have afforded to fast track that kind of engine (which I'm sure they COULD have...((and would you really want them to)) into the 2010, they may be utlizing that time to make sure the engine is what it is intended to be.... a SOLID piece of 'take names, and whoop ***'
I'd LIKE to see it in the 2010 (as much as the next guy), but if it takes them the extra 6-12 months to shakedown that engine.... go right ahead.
I'm not defending it, cause I think its a bum idea...
but I'd rather they work the kinks and wait the year.
THe problem if it launches and has a flaw...everyone and their dog woulda said 'you fasttracked the engine, why didn't you take the time to get it right....derppppp'

And KGray, go back to 1994-1995...
edit: Well said Boomer.
I, for one, wish the 5.0 was coming in 2010 just because I like even numbers better. :-/ And now that were into the 2010's, it's just weird to say. You show your new car to your buddies and they (not being car guys) say "hey nice car, what year is it?"..you say "uhhh its an '11".....weird right? Maybe I'll just wait until 2012, but by then the 2014 will only be a year away. Crap!!

DUUHHHH!!!!!!! That's what it looks like cuz that's what it is. And that's all Ford ever said it was going to be. This is just a REFRESH.
