v6 tuner install question
While doing the tuner install either while reading the car or some time at the start my fuel and temp gages started stuttering. going up a little and all the way down for about 5 seconds then stopped .
now mt\y fuel gage is working ok, but the temp gage when the car is hot . dosent go to the temp it stays on 0 for about 10 seconds then slowly creeps up to the temp takes about 20 seconds to get there. I never noticed it doing that before i think it went right to the temp like the fuel gage still does.
also i forgot not to change any setting the first time you install it. i changed the speed limit to off. I guess im ok on that?
they probably just didnt want you changing all the spark and rev limiters and stuff im hopeing.
took it for an around the block drive and car seems ok except for the temp gage.
i dont rember the gage being slow like that before does anyone elses gage do this?
thanks rick

update
I went out after the car sat for a while and both gages jumped right to the correct levels then turned it off and restarted and the temp did the lagging thing again. started several times again and did it all the time after the first time. I was shure id have noticed this before if it had done it. so what happened to the gage?

SCT hand held tuner? If so I have one too. Like you I only make sure the speed limiter is off, the right gear ratio and revolutions per mile of the tires is chosen so the speedometer is right. I never look at my temperature gauge except to see if it is running hot .
The only thing I check is my battery voltage before I load the tune. Some people put on a battery charger while loading a tune. I've read it could lock up everything if you load a tune with a bad or low battery. I just make sure my battery reads 12.4 volts or more before I begin .

That jumping fluttering thing is normal when you install a tune, and as far as I can tell it has no lasting affect.
My best guess is your gages did not change at all, you just got freaked out by the weird behavior while loading the tune, and now you are noticing things that you never noticed before and thinking something is wrong, but it is normal.
The only "issue" is the temp gage takes about 10-20 seconds to come up to temp, right? I'll have to check next time I drive my car, but I think that is normal.

I agree with Bert. While loading the tune, gauges will do some weird stuff. My gauges have behaved normally after loading. I'll try to remember to watch the temperature gauge the next time I start the car when it is up to operating temperature and see how ong it takes to read correctly.

I watched my temperature gauge today. Three times, I shut the motor off to go into stores and things like that. All 3 times my temperature gauge went up to the normal temperature within a couple seconds after starting the motor. I'm running a MPT tune.
