I waited 3 mos. just to order my 07 997S..I had to wait for an allotment and then it took another 2 mos. to build and another month to cross the pond. A car I ordered in late Sept. 07 didn't get here to the dealer until Feb. 28th. I ordered the car from a dealer in Ohio, I live in S. Cali. If I used a dealer here in S. Cali it would have been another 3-4 weeks to get the car as it had to go through the Panama Canal. Instead I ordered a car back east and had it shipped via covered carrier and it got here in 10 days.
The issue here is we are ordering a car that is just starting to being built and we have to burn through the dealer stock orders before any customer orders are being processed (not counting retail orders that were changed to customers preference).

TYPE Description
0 FLEET
1 RETAIL
2 STOCK
3 RED CARPET LEASE RENEWAL ORDER
A "A/D/Z" PLAN VEHICLES
B STOCK-DEALER DEMONSTRATOR
K LOAN-OUT PGM.(DRIVER TRAINING)
X "X" PLAN VEHICLES
Order type 2 is for dealer stock (unsold cars that will just sit on the lot waiting for a buyer). The other order types are all orders for a specific customer. For the average customer who special orders, order type 1 is you. If you are eligible for one of the plan-prices, order type A or X will apply to you.

Waiting in NY
Like I've said elsewhere, the waiting is rough, but I'd rather wait an extra month to make sure everything's right. New cars with rattling parts or mechanical glitches would make us all sad
I've waited years to order this car -- I can wait a little longer . . . I think!

The whole time this scheduling had been going on, I thought I had a retail order, but apparently, since my car is already built, I guess I have a stock order from my dealer. Hopefully that won't mess up the timing of getting it by much.
When I talked to the dealer last week, before I saw the Mustangs were on hold, he told me delivery would be around 4/30. I doubt that is going to happen now, but is there any timeline on when this problem is going to be fixed? How will it affect my car?
