Two Years on the GT...
It was two years yesterday that I drove the Mustang home for the first time. So far, it's been a great car, and I still love to drive it.
A lot has been said about the MT82, and I've had my share of concerns with the notch shifts, but I'm living with it. Once it's warmed up, it goes into "butter mode". I have learned one thing that helps when the engine is cold. It may be just be, and some of you may say I'm nuts, but I've found that grabbing the lower part of the shifter rather than the ball pretty much eliminates the notch characteristic going from 1st to 2nd.
I've had two oil changes so far, and I'm just over 14,000 miles, so I'll be getting number threes in another 1,000 miles. At that time, I'm going to have them look at the air vent on the far left side. For some reason all those little louvers in there are jacked up and you can't really adjust it. I think there's something that wasn't connected right when it was delivered. It's been that way the whole time.
Other than that, we're good to go. Still loving it.

Very good feedback!! I think your observations about the transmission are right on. Honestly, I have had almost nothing but manually shifted cars and they all feel a bit crunchy when cold. The MT-82 is right in line with the rest of them, IMO.
Still all stock?

I have a 2012 GT 5.0 with the 6so manual. I've learned that in the cold, when I start it up to warm up I engage the clutch and run it through the gears 3-4 times and when you finally take off it shifts real Smith. The gears shift almost effortless

I'm at a little over 2.5 years (44K miles) and the car has been trouble free.
Like GTX said all manual trans cars are a bit notchy when cold, why would this one be any different ?

Congrats on your 2 yr anniversary. I will have mine on April 13 too. I had
a similar problem with shifting gears when cold but got rid of it when I installed the Burton shifter.

Happy 2 years!! Mine 2011 GT turns 3 years next week :-o!! Time flies, only have 12,879 miles since it's only my fun car. Just wanted to add my experience with the MT-82 and it's been just fine w/o issues, I do have an MGW, and it definitely helped strengthen the leverage if the mushy shifter linkage, and I'm very happy to say it shifts like butter regardless if the cold. But I still have to take it easy until it warms up
