If I wasn't sure what was loaded I would first return mine to the factory calibration, then install the tune I want to be running.

Can't remember where I read it, but folks claimed it was best to always return to stock before changing any versions of a tune.

I don't know any way to tell what is loaded, other than remembering or writing it down when you load it.

Yup, that's about it (at least with the SCT x4). The quick reference guide talks about going to the main menu > Vehicle Info and finding it there, but it isn't.

Like someone else said, if you're not sure if it's the right one, flash back to stock, the select / flash the one you want. Write it down on a sticky-note and put the date/tune flashed on it & attach the note to flasher or put it in the box.
