Tune problem - Help !! my V6 wont start
So Im just trying to get my car back to stock because its going into the shop and during the return to stock programming the process fails and now my car is stuck in the drive way and wont start. I called American muscle and spoke to someone at Bama. They said you have to call SCT and they will help you. SCT is closed now. Anyone have any suggestions other than unplugging the battery for 10 minutes At this point I cant even program it with the bama tunes.

Maybe Google?
In the meantime this is from an older version of a SCT tuner (circa '05?)
"Error recovery:
In the event this unit does not successfully flash the vehicle, it will display an error message on the LCD display. If this occurs, you will want to recover th EEC bu turning the key off, following the menu options to Program Vehicle and under program Option, choose the "return to stock" option. This will install the stock file back into the vehicle and allow you to attempt to reflash the vehicle with the custom program."

Just happened to me tonight, 20 minutes before SCT closed. I also have the ITSX. Car won't take any tunes, stuck.
I was able to get through to SCT. They said send them the stock tune and tomorrow they will create a recovery stock tune to correct this.
Bring tuner inside, locate USB to micro USB cable.
Go to sct's site....click tech support..... No ITSX selection so click on the livewire 9600.
Third available download is device update software.
Download and open program, plug tuner in, then near the bottom of the menu screen is a option to the effect of " get stock tune"
Save that file somewhere you can find it on it computer.
Go to your email, send a email to taylor@sctflash.com.
Include the file(s)....mine saved two files....and your contact info.
And now wait till tomorrow.....or today since its after midnight....

Man, I'm seeing more and more people with SCT issues now! Here's a pair of posts I made last night and today about my SCT problems....
---------------------------------------------------
So, I went to the track tonight with the stock tune back in the car. Best run was launching off idle for a 12.95 @ 110+ (85 degrees). However, my launch problem was still there on the runs with any revs at launch. The car just lays down in 1st gear for about a second, then the power magically comes on full blast. Our SVT Director for our store thinks some sort of 'torque management' is pulling power in despite the traction control and advancetrac being totally turned off.
To make matters worse, I tried to reload my SCT 91 octane tune at the track and it wouldn't load. Said that my battery voltage was too high and I could not start the car. Tried several times to reload that tune with no success and my car wouldn't start until I loaded the stock tune back in. I was worried that I'd be calling a tow truck! Any ideas? High battery voltage from running to redline on the track? If so, I'm not liking this SCT tuner. I had a DiabloSport Predator tuner for my '07 GT and never had any glitches.
-----------------------------------------------------
Spent an hour on the phone with SCT today. My tuner was frozen essentially. They connected to my laptop remotely and I had the tuner plugged into my laptop so they could access it. Ended up having to completely format the tuner! Completely reinstalled the latest software and firmware revisions for me (took another hour after I got off the phone with them. Loaded the new 91 octane tune in the car successfully and the car is good and strong again! Seems to launch very hard with no power being pulled now, but I'll have to confirm if my launch issue is really 'cured' next time at the track.

Weill just as all of you guys said - I called and SCT and they remote controlled my computer and I was able to extract the stock tune file from the iTSX. They will repair the file and then email it back to me in about 45 minutes. He said not to worry and I should be fine. With the iTSX - all I will have to do is click on the emailed file they send me from my iPhone and then it will open in the iTSX app and automatically do the repair. I won't be home until about 5:30 which mean I will have 30 minutes to try the repair before SCT support closes for the weekend. I will post back tonight with results.

Fyi... the other day i went to load a new tune on the sct tuner so i plugged it into the computer, ran the updater, it found a new firmware update, got all the way to the end of updating then failed somehow.
The tuner then proceeded to format itself completely, including my tunes, and re-download all of the software, minus my tunes.
This process took a good 2 hours.
Very inconvenient, these sct tuners seem to be pretty finicky.

I received my recovery file and was able to load the stock tune. I then updated the ITSX per SCTs direction. The update took 3 hours......
I had a couple issues when I went to load a custom tune, error messages, I restarted my phone and the tune installed without a problem....

I'll never buy SCT as long as they are this problematic and knowingly don't provide 24/7 access to fix file. Screw them!

I have been sent two recovery files and neither worked. I mean the recovery loads into the iTSX but then when it tells me to return to stock tune i say ok and then the device says turn key on. I turn the key and then nothing happens. I sat in the car for 15 minutes and then its throughs an Error (0XFF) contact support.
SO SCT wants me to shipped them my computer and tuner. Not sure what I should do.

Or every time the firmware needs updating and ends up taking 2 hours.
Does the diablo tuner do the same thing as the sct as far as capabilities and what the tune writers can do with them?

Lol wow... Sct is a very popular and trusted brand... they have tons of tuners with no issues. Y'all bought the newest thing off the shelf and you expect perfection?
Sct is standing behind their word and they will fix it. They obviously have an issue with the device that needs to be worked out, but at least they are working to resolve the issue. They could say "tough luck, deal with it".
Unhappy? Then leave the car stock and don't mod it..

The iTSX app sucks. I have it on my Escape and 6-7/10 times it doesn't connect to the tuner or doesn't registrar least 1-2 functions of the app. I'm sure they are working on it. Did you try deleting the app and reinstalling it? Also, did you try reading the car in the "info" tab which the app stores your car's info in? Those two things seemed to help the connection be more stable. I didn't realize SCT didn't have 24/7 tech support. I still believe they have the best tuners out there, I'm just worried I bought into the whole "sync with your phone" hype and it's introduced a whole other variable into this very complicated process of talking to your vehicle's computer system.
