My wifes dad is a Ford mechanic. I asked him about the tune and he said that it just depends on where you take it for the repairs. He said that he can make it appear that the car has not had a tune on it.

Tune it and enjoy it.

We do have the Bama Hybrid tune for manual 05+ Mustangs. It has all of the low end torque of our Street tune as well as high end Race tune power. If you're interested, you just have to contact Bama and let them know!

As for our warranty policies. We do have a cylinder #8 warranty for the 5.0 Mustangs, only. That being said, we do stand behind all of our products, so if you have any problems you can always contact me and I'll do as much as I can to help you out. We've always been the company that we want out customers to trust if things ever go wrong!

I think the biggest concern putting a tune on my month old car wouldn't necessarily be a #8 failure, but rather getting flack from the dealership if something else were to go wrong. Lets say I had a drivetrain problem or some random CPU or engine problem, even if the tune had NOTHING to do with it, I am sure a dealership would (understandably) question the tune.

That being said, I ended up getting an Cobb AccessPort for my 2011 WRX at 12,XXX miles so I am sure I will eventually get a tune for the Mustang. Modding is always a risk warranty wise no matter what you drive and how safe the modifications are.

My issue is that I tuned with an 87 street tune but I have that well known engine tick. Have 700 miles on the car and hope the dealership doesn't say oh u had it tuned...which I did for approximately 15 hours but reverted to stock to get the engine checked out. I don't know what the tick is but I hear it is common with these cars.

I will say however that with the 87 street tune my 0-60 time in an automatic v6 premium(mention it because the car is heavier) went from 6.7s to 5.9s. Can't wait for the 93 race tune, thoroughly impressed.

So you are going to wait 5 years or 60K miles until your warranty is up? What 90% of you don't realize (because nobody reads the manual anymore); is the powertrain warranty from ford is 5 years 60K miles. Mostly everybody keeps assuming the warranty is 3 years 36K; which is the standard bumper to bumper. The powertrain warranty is a seperate warranty.
