I remember seeing your V6 in the threads. Its an eye catcher. Any way you can keep the 6 and have a GT to boot?

Oh yes, there are still plenty of AM stations around but there aren't many AM stereo stations around anymore. In the mid-80s, there were two competing technologies producing stereo AM that could still be received (in mono) on standard AM receivers - ISB and QAM. GM bet on QAM and made AM stereo/FM stereo QAM receivers an option in their cars. It was kind of like VHS versus Beta or Blue-Ray versus HD-DVD except that apparently nobody cared much so neither format won out and AM stereo died. There are now less than 75 AM stereo stations still operating in the US. As you said, they mostly switched to talk format and who needs stereo for that?

So the consensus seems to be to keep the car for now. Around when do cars become a better idea to trade in (I know, never) or sell 3rd party if I'm looking to upgrade? I'm thinking within a couple of years I should be able to find a cash buyer on craigslist without any problems and they'll give me more or less than the dealership would give me now.

Trade in value

Just traded a 2013 GT Premium 6-spd with Track Pak as only option (MSRP $36k); got $23K value on a trade for new $30K car.

Northeast Ohio. Various dealers ranged from $19k to $23K with most around 21-22.

At least in Ohio, figure out tax advantage of trade vs sale. Not sure exactly how it works but if I bought new car I would have to pay sales tax on purchase price but if trading, somehow the value of trade knocks down sales tax to difference between trade value and new car price.

I think.

I traded in my '14 V6 non-premium, but I had the fp6 package (upgraded black wheels, black spoiler and black mirrors) back in July for a new '15 GT. I traded it in to same dealership that I bought it from. Since I got it as a leftover in the first place, I got a great deal. At the time the promo was $3k off plus another 1k if I didn't do the 0% financing. Since I have good credit, I got .9% anyway. So I walked out paying 21k.....well they gave me 20k for my car a year later. Now granted, I only had 2500 miles, but I was still thrilled with the price. They then gave me another great deal on my '15 GT. I got another $3-$4k off my new one.
