Traction Control OFF Sequence

Traction Control OFF Sequence
Guys,
Reading the Owners manual, and listening here, I ;THOUGHT; that to TOTALLY turn the TC & Advance Trac Off, you Simply put your Foot on the brake for 6+seconds and they BOTH go off...Well Apparantly Not!! After getting my tune I've been pulling my hair out, as Everytime I make a Pass & the car shifts into 2nd, it gets Wheelspin, and KILLS the rpms (with the TC/Adavancetra) Off....
Well Apparantly you Start the car, hit the button Once, and TC is Off..Well THEN you put your foot on the Brake and THEN do the 6+ second hold down to turn of the Advance Trac...I tried that, and it Seems to work....

I've ordered my '11 GT, and after reading several of these "how do you turn the TC off" threads, I was wondering - maybe someone could post exactly what the owner's manual says to clear this up???? I mean, it should be a relatively simple procedure, yes?

I know, I DID see and Read that part of the Manual, and Others have Chimmed in saying Just do the 6+ second hold down, and ALLs Off as well, Well thats OBVIOUSLY NOT the Case, they must have ReDid it or something for the '11's, as I'm NOT the only one with this Problem!!

When I test drove a 2011 5.0 I:
1. started the car
2. put my foot on the brake
3. pressed and held the button for several seconds until the display in the dash said "ADVANCETRAC OFF"
4. put the car in gear
(5. burnt the tires)
(6. grinned ear to ear)
This happens to be the same thing the manual says. Maybe some 2011s have it correct and others don't. Worked just fine for me.

Tried OP's suggestion, which makes sense, but from a rolling punch, my car will not break loose unless the surface is really slick. (new asphalt in a parking lot that was just coated a couple of days ago)
Brembo, 3:73s.
Not like the old 5.0s I used to have!!!!!
I need to put some of those old 15" tires on this one for a true comparison, although the '93 had 16"ers. WoooHoo!

I haven't really concerned myself with it yet, but the first question that fills my mind is this: Is traction control and advance trac separate systems, or just two names for the same system? I'll do some research and report back. :-)
Ahem...quick edit...after looking at the docs, it is immediately apparent that Advance Trac is supposed to be Traction Control plus Electronic Stability Control. So now the question is what exactly gets turned off under each scenario.
Ahem...again...further reading and it even provides a table to show what the modes are. Leaving but one question...are the docs accurate for all 2011 Mustangs? Probably so, but you can rarely trust anything 100%.

Upon talking to Fred at Evolution(my Tuner) and a few others, it Seems that I'M just Unlucky, and MY car has a Problem!! He suggested Disconnecting the Battery, placing my Foot on the brake for a Few moments, and ~20 minutes later ReConnecting..I guess so Everything could Relearn??
Lucky me, perhaps I could get it Fixed under warranty?? I mean it SHOULD go off, but doesn't!!

I don't think that the V6's have Sport Mode, although the upcoming Performance Package V6 probably will have it.

Yes...V6 does not have sport mode until the performance pack comes out. The sequence to turn off TC on normal V6 (that isn't broken)...
First, there's two facets to the system. The entire system is called "AdvanceTrac" and is composed of traction control and electronic stability control. The traction control prevents tires spinning and the stability control applies brakes if it senses the car losing control going around corners.
To turn off just traction control. Hit button once. Stability control is still on and could still affect spinning the tires by applying brakes if it senses that the car is "out of control".
To turn off both stability control and traction control. Put foot on the brakes and hold the button until you see the ESC light come on. (6 or more seconds).
That's it

yesterday I accomplished turning both off by doing exactly what db2797 did, and also what the orignal post did. Of course, I have a 2010 Mustang GT Prem. I did it multiple times with no problems.
I turn off one at a time and works fine.
"To turn off just traction control. Hit button once. VEHICLE STATES TRACTION OFF
To turn off both stability control and traction control. Put foot on the brakes and hold the button until you see the ESC light come on. (6 or more seconds). "
I think the OP states that he does this and it does work?

Paint issues? What happened? I have noticed on my strut tower, they missed a little paint and gotta bring in back to the dealer to see if they can touch it up.

First it was the UAW workers, now the robots... can anyone paint a car besides West Coast Customs????
