Track pack surprises

I have 13 Track pack stang. I already know of the painted Boss axle and finned cover. Did Ford include any other upgrades in the package that didn't make the brochure. I am curious about things like lower expansion brake lines and the oil pan. I am getting ready for my first track day and wondered what mods should be on the list. I would hate to buy something that is already on the car.

Been discussed a number of times, you should find the answer with a quick search.

Do you have the Torsen Diff? Very good for accelerating out of the turns. The Stock Pads will wear out fast. Recommend PF01 front; PF97 rear

Torsen diff does come with the track pack

I used PFC-01's on my last car and they had excellent braking power and modulation

I know it had the Torsen and the Boss axle housing. Ikind of suspected the oil pan. I wss really wondering if all of the Brembo cars got the upgraded brake lines of the Boss and GT500.

I don't think it does.

+1 to brake pads upgrade. I work for a Brake supplier and we have a lot of people working in my building who regularly track their cars. Everyone I've talked to says to upgrade the pads first, or at lest bring a spare set with you.

The low expansion lines are only on Track Pack GT's, but not standard Brembo cars.

Thats's awesome LtngDrvr. I've never heard this before - do you mind if I ask where you learned this from? I'm always looking for good new sources of technical info in these cars.

even if it had the lower expansion lines they are not really worth it, if you had the money brake ducts and fluid would go a long way. If you have more then steel braided lines are always on the Boss guys list of brake mods. I would keep the stock pads just to learn the car and then step up from there.

And brake cooling ducts is waaaay overkill unless in a track environment. SS lines are nice but again unless braking very heavily it's doubtful any difference would be noticed. I had SS lines in the past and noticed no difference on the street. But they are a nice security measure and if you are going to track the car they will offer some improvement in pedal feel.

I truly wish that Ford would come out with some sort of confirmation of exactly what parts are on the Track Pack cars. Especially since the S197 is winding down now. What would it hurt? Web Sites like Brembo 5.0 and others appear to be legitimate... But you are still trusting someone else's word on the matter. Just prefer the confirmation from the ones who built it as opposed to hear say. But then maybe there will always be a bit of a mystique about the Track Pack then...
