TPMS Nonsense...
Guys,
Looking at buying a Set of 18x8.5" 5 spoke FRPP Wheels to mount up my Drag Radials in a 265/40-18 Size, so the BIG Question is the TPMS, I Do NOT want a Dam warning light staring me in the face everytime I switch these back and forth (to my Regular Wheels/Tires) so Apparantly I have to buy What??? Two new sensors, some kind of Magnet tool???

Thanks, yea upon further invesigation I'll need the tool and two sensors, which American muscle has for $68.87 for everything.
So with that+ The tires $548.00 + wheels $216.00 + mounting and balance = a Grand Total of $882.87....so 900bucks for drag radials WOW!!!!

Have you seen or dealt with the warning light yet? I thought it would bug me at first, but my autocross wheels/tires don't have TPMS sensors in them, and after the first 15-20 miles or so the light comes on, and I notice it for about five minutes, and then seldom think about it anymore. I've got a set of FRPP 18" wheels I'm going to use for summer street driving next year, and probably won't bother with sensors in them either.

How much are the drag radials actually going to be on the car? Just to and from the drag strip, or are you going to put a lot of street miles on them as well?

You need the valve stem mounted TPMS Sensors for your 2010-11, not the BAND style you're seeing on AM. All American Muscle offers for '10-11 is 4 sensors and the tool for $300.
Best price I've seen for them is $125.00 for a set of 4 on e-bay ... these are take-off / used sensors and new valve stems.
Individually expect to pay at least $60 each for new ones from Ford or aftermarket.

Those are also not the OEM Ford/Bosch Sensor as used on '10-11, so I would be concerned with compatability. I read that '10-11 sensors need to be 315 Mhz, and I see no mention of frequency in this e-bay ad either.

Interestingly, that one claims to be compatible with '07-09 Mustangs but '10-11 is not mentioned. Thought the "Band Style" was required on '07-09.

I'm sure that when you order them that you will be required to give the applictaion and the appropriate sensors will be supplied.
These sensors are the kind with bolt-on chrome stems instead of rubber, just the ticket for custom wheels.

Talked to American Muscle at Lenght, and they have the Tool for $35.00, and the 2011 Stems, 2 of them for $29.00, all together it's ~$68.00. I told the guy to MAKE SURE these were the RIGHT STEMS for the 2011, and he said they were, so who knows??

Sounds like the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. You need the sensors not just the stems.
And you probably don't need the tool, just go by a tire shop and have them reset it for you.

That sucks that Ford requires you to use some sort of tool to swap tires. I ordered winter tires for my Mazda from Tire Rack with TPMS already installed. And I just put them on the car and off I went. Then I got summer tires with TPMS and again, just put them on and went.
So a total of 12 tires have been on the car and I didn't have to do anything for TPMS.

I don't think you need the tool anymore... for '10+
I bought one from the Ford Dealer for my old car for $18, but that was 3yrs ago, anyway when I changed the wheels on my '10 I didn't get around to reprograming them but the light never came on (It did in my old car after abt 10 miles) and the old wheels are nowhere near the car.
