tire recommendations
hi, i'm up in Calgary Alberta and have just bought a set of GT500 style rims, and now looking for appropriate rubber for our varied climate up here. Basically i need something that heats up fairly easily here in temps from 0 to 25 celsius. I likely won't be driving below zero, thats what my truck is for.
I do like to take trips through the mountains, spirited rides where there's no radar. I used to race bikes so i know a little about tires, but not much about cars, especially these. I do plan on playing with the track apps at the occasional open track day. I don't want to spend a small fortune either.
I just got word from my dealer that my car was born last week
'13 convertible GT, deep impact blue.
these are the wheels, just purchased from Vectors2final...

Tires are a tough call, most people will tell you to go with Blizzacks for your type of winter, you can also call tire rack and explain what you want and they are pretty helpful, but it will still be their opinion and you will still be the one making the decision. If you go with all seasons, the choices open up quite a bit. I run Bridgestones on my F150 and Yokohamas on my wife's suv, I like them both but I live in TN and our weather is mild.
Good luck with the choice and let us know what you go with, by the way, I have 13 GT Vert, Deep Impact Blue, on the way also, I hope Ford doesn't send mine up North I am anxiously awaiting it. I plan on switching the tires to Cooper RS3 A/S or Bridgestone Re0970 A/S when I get the car at the end of the month.

I had the new Kumho 4X A/S tires on my last car and they are a great alternative to the small forutne tires. They grip very well and don't slide around when the temp gets below 40 F like the stock Pirelli's do. Around 200 per tire on TireRack. They won the Ultra High Performance All Season category in the test that they conducted. YouTube it.

i'm looking for performance mostly as this car will not likely ever see snow. I have the truck for that. all season or a summer tire that can still handle lower temps.

Wow.. Another tire thread.. LOL. I went Kumo 4x but also went with 18's as there are not as many choices for 19's Continentals are also great tires. I went to Discount Tire instead..
