Those with non-stock rims.

Do any of you still keep the spare in your trunk? i mean i have 20's now and feel the spare is a bit pointless. I'm thinking of using that space for a sub.
What do 20's have to do with whether you have a spare tire or not?
The size of the spare makes no difference since you only leave it on long enough to get the car to a place where the original tire can be repaired or replaced.
And if you are worried about the clutches in the rear, worse comes to worse, you can always swap it to the front.
But the clutches will stand up to a short drive with mismatched tire sizes, it's the same as when you turn the car, the clutches have to slip then just like they will with the spare on one side.

i'm debating this as well. i removed my subs and spare this weekend to sound deaden the trunk and it feels like a drift car now without them lol. i think im going to lose the spare and just bring it along for when i go on longer trips.

Put the spare on a front wheel and move a front wheel to the rear if you have to.
My overall question was to see if this was a good idea or not, since i haven't had to use the spare yet i didn't know if it was a viable option to use with a different size rim. my mistake.
and this
jump off a bridge, your comment wasn't needed. I guess i wasn't sure if a spare of different size was usable again since i've never had to go to those lengths.

Now if your Mustang came with a spare, I'd say you could not go this route and get away with it.

I take mine on long trips. if I get a flat there is always someone to bring me a spare or there is always a shop close enough where I can get it fixed right away. Its an extra 38 pounds to carry around
I have the CS with 19" wheels and mine came with a spare. Ask me how I know. 600 miles and I got a flat downtown Chicago. First flat I've had in 5 years but I'm happy I had the spare. Waiting for Roadside Assistance in Chicago during morning rush hour.........l would still be there waiting and this happened 2 weeks ago.
