Yes. Everyone needs to grab a dictionary and look up the word SARCASM.

If it was from last summer you could say they were taking a stab in the dark but theres too much info out about the 2011 to get this much wrong.
The vast majority of us thought your post was funny....

Never thought this post was a "joke", I thought it was what it was. And what that was to me was the original poster saying, "Look what these idots on the vette forum are saying!" He was not saying that what they were saying was true, he was saying what a bunch of MORONS the vette guys were!

I don't know how anyone could read the original post any other way.

It was pretty clear it was a joke, and, even if it wasn't, it was just stating what the corvette guys said, not that the OP thought it was the truth.

I'm a Corvette owner and belong to that forum. The thread is under c6 general discussion and entitled '5.0 Engine'. While it is true that some bowtie fanboys made stupid comments, you neglected to point out the smack-down they received from some other 'vette owners.

AS far as "others" stealing the GM block design, that too is just so funny. The American automakers have been sharing technology for many many years. Advances in technology help them all - and they know that.

I am into American muscle cars, not just one brand. Love em all. I plan on adding one to the stable.

We should cut these guys some slack. It seemed to me the concern was more over trolling or flaming. Who wants to argue when we all just want to talk about our passion!

Thats the way it should be coffeejolts. Im the same was i like all of the american muscle cars but the Mustang just fits me personally. We should just be happy in this day and age with the economy so bad and gas prices unstable that we can even talk about muscle car and hp wars. This could be it for along time so why not just enjoy it and appreciate others makes of cars. Its crazy how loyal some get to a brand. Its almost like a religion.

I can't figure how anyone came up with the conclusion that the block would be sleeveless. Maybe they saw somewhere the words "all aluminum block" and made a rash assumption from there?

OP, I know I came off the bat with a bashing mentality much like others, but the post seemed a bit trollish(especially since you're a new member), that's all. It's all good now.

I thought this was absolutely hilarious and literally lol'd.

Plus the cavalier steering wheel comment is comedic gold. Next time I see a C5 owner that can take a joke I'll ask them that.

I'm a C5 owner and I think the steering wheel is just fine. Not as nice as the one in the 2010+ Mustang, but good enough. Perhaps you're thinking of the C4. I remember driving one of those once and thinking that they must have raided the parts bin for the S10 pickup. THAT was a cheapo interior.
