These local dealers really suck...

I guess they don't want to sell any cars.

I have been sending out emails to them all morning requesting info/quotes and haven't heard anything back. Had a few emails back/forth yesterday but not very informative or responsive.

What does it take to give a car company your money?

Head to Upstate NY, we'd be happy to have you leave us some money (and probably less than most of your locals).

for some reason, doesnt it seem like the dealers around where you live never want to go out of their way to help or get a sale?

Same thing happened with me, I drove 45 minutes away to get the Mustang I wanted for a good price. And to be honest with you, same thing happened when shopping for my Harley Davidson.

My girl is in the market for a new car, the dealer in our town for that brand (Im convincing her to buy American by throwing in the extra cash to make up the price difference), is a joke and will never go there, will go a few towns over to get a better deal, or take the hour ride to New York.

Many NOVA dealerships dissapeared when I asked for an out the door quote in writing. Koons and Sheehy were particularly bad.

Ted Britt and Kip Kilmon will sell you 500 under invoice (talk to internet sales). After the processing fees it's more like 100 over and 100 under, respectively. Still not bad.

Ted Britt quoted me a good price (around invoice after all taxes/fees) on a model I asked for + a few extra options. But when I asked for a quote on ordering one to my exact setup they were way over invoice. I asked them about the price difference and have yet to hear anything back.

Actually a few dealers have quoted me on the same exact car (same vin) that "is a few days away" and they are all about the same price. But for some reason when I ask for special order they dissapear.

Now today I can't get a reply from anyone.

I even called back to my hometown dealer in Michigan and the guy hasn't called me back yet either. I know they need $$$$ up there.

Try Kip's! If you talk to internet sales make sure to mention other places are giving you about invoice after procssing fee. I'm sure they will be willing to order. I'm pretty happy with them.

Two things: Lots of sales people take Thursdays off -- traditionally slow and they're usually working all weekend so I'd cut some slack there. Also, Cowles Ford told me they were $750 over invoice (but a smaller processing fee) when I was trying to figure out if my X-plan was a better deal or not with some of the Vincent incentives being offered. I asked, "$750???? Why?" And they said, "That's our Internet price." Um, yeah. Pass. So I got x-plan minus $1250 ($500 public cash and $750 brochure cash). And then got them to throw in the 6 yr/100k/$100 ded premium care warranty for $979.

Overall, not impressed with NoVA car dealers. This is a fairly transient area and I think they know there will be a constant flow of new customers to replace the "regulars" they alienate.

If I had it to do over again... this is exactly what I would do. I'd say give Paul a chance and then enjoy a really nice drive home.

They've learned to deal with a lack of revenue up there. They're sitting around waiting for the recovery.

Dude. We didn't need to know that. I can't believe they gave you a discount for pubic rash.

Knock off the editing Patrick. No matter how funny it is. My "l" key doesn't always work. LOL!

+1 for Avis Ford. I know someone who has bought several cars from them. Always good reports and always good service after the sale. And I don't even LIVE in MI any more.

Ive been having the same problem here in fl. No one wants to help me and I've been to 5 dealerships. One dealership sold the car right out from under me while I was doing my credit app and another one told me I couldnt afford a new car and tried to sell me a used 2010 talk about bs. Needless to say I came up to West Virginia a few days ago and found a dealer who was nice and willing to help me. I finally got to buy my 2011 and paid alot less then what Fl was selling for. I dont understand how sales people can be so rude and not care about making a sale.

I'm pretty sure i'll be getting A-Z plan pricing so at this point it doesn't matter what dealer I choose.

Well I got x plan plus $1000 off somehow. The funny thing is it was the exact same car I was applying for and it was $3000 more including my x plan pricing :0/

This might help, or at least give you an idea of what people are saying about dealers.

I was able to get mine at invoice, less $1250 in rebates.
Then when I went to the finance guy I told him I had X% loan from my credit union. The only way I'd get a loan through him and the only way I'd get extended warranty is if he can beat their interest enough to make the payment less, including the warranty... so I got the 5yr/100,000 mile warranty and I'm paying about $25/mo less than my credit union was going to charge me.
Hard to argue.
