Is There a Mustang "Wave"?
I find more competitiveness on the road than any friendly waves, but I don't expect them in this car even from other Mustang owners. I've driven Vette's plenty of times and you constantly get waves from other owners. Yesterday I got taillgated by a guy in a 05-09, then he flew around and cut across in front of me like a jackass. I get crap like that more than anything friendly.

Oddly enough, in Tampa, I get the nod and wave from Camaros/Challengers/Chargers/ and modded imports. I think I get it because I have the Xenon quarter window and door scoops along with tinted windows and sequentials. And for that I always wave back. At lights if a modded ride pulls up I usually roll down the window for a better look and if the driver looks at me, I'll nod or thumbs up them.
On another note, the other day I let a lady merge into my lane during heavy traffic while she was in the center turn lane. Being a nice guy I gave her a thumbs up in acknowledgement and she flipped me off. My fiance and I laughed so hard at that, that when we ended up side by side she was giving us dirty looks. I rolled down the window and yelled to her it was a thumbs up to say she was welcome for the cut in and then she felt sheepish. Got an apology and thank you. Heh.

Good job calling her on it! I think you just made the world a slightly better place because she will think twice next time.

I could hear his girlfriend laughing her **** off as i drove by
Hahahahaha, unrelated but Friday night my wife and I were driving home in separate cars from the kids' football game. We ended up stopped at a light next to each other so I started revving my engine. Of course, it was all in jest but there happened to by a fox 5.0 behind her and he started revving too. He must have thought I was a total d-bag for revving my engine at a Hyundai Sonata.

I am now convinced that there is more of a competitive than brotherly nature in Mustang/Mustang interactions on the street, particularly any pre-2010 Mustangs versus a 2011+ 5.0. Was cruising home from church this afternoon, when there was this deafening roar as the driver of a 2005-2009 GT with every nauseating external chrome embellishment going the other direction no doubt saw my car and decided to stand on it to impress/challenge/deafen me. He definitely had no mufflers; I'd say if anything he had exhaust amplifiers in lieu of mufflers.
What a D-Bag.

Its not that i dont like people who dont mod their cars--its just that the Mustang is often bought by people who have never and will never be interested in community that exists around the car. BUT alot of owners who have work done are. Just my opinion!

I think I wave to almost every 10+ mustang no matter what motor (I might miss some when not paying attention). Sometimes to others if I notice them looking. I haven't noticed many wave back. I ride a motorcycle and there it is like a 90% wave back. So maybe it is different, maybe not everyone with a mustang is an enthusiast. The terminator owners seem the friendliest in my opinion!
I could understand if I had dark tinted windows and so did she, but I was in the fiance's Versa (awesome car with great mpg!) which has no tint at all. And my thumb and middle finger look nothing alike.
I guess it is a sad commentary to how bad society has become that you can't even give someone a thumbs up or wave without getting an odd look or flipped off.

I had a Mini Cooper S, and they all waved, Same thing on the Motorcycles.. Too many Mustangs owned by NON -Car Enthusiasts. We passed a Shelby GT 500 convertible, my wife waved. the old guy looked at her like she was weird.. Hate to say it but even the exotic owners aren't always Enthusiasts... If I see someone looking .. I'll give them a nod.. If someone else waves.. I'll wave..
I was cruising home early Friday.. I had a guy in a mod Charger SVT following me.. gave me the 2-finger wave.. Gave him a wave back..

It took my body shop 2 months to fix it. Wrong parts were shipped according to the owner of the shop.
Everything looks pretty good. Had to do a week of cleaning to get all the dust off.

I guess i've never really had a 'real' Mustang (5) because i've never had one with a 8 cylinder
