Thanks TMS members!
Just got the deal done on my 2011 GT! First new car purchase ever.
I got a great deal, about $290 over invoice plus tax.
I want to thank all the contributors to the various 2011 purchacing forums for giving me the resources to know what I was doing heading in to the negotiations.
I worked my way through four dealers strictly through e-mail and came across nearly all the false claims you guys warned about and called them on every one. Having the price list and some knowledge on how things like holdbacks and allocations work sure was handy.
Thanks guys! Like others have said, this truly is a great place to be!

What a feeling, eh? Congrats!!
You don't know how easy it is today with all the information and great forums like this on the internet to help you pull off a killer deal. Back when I bought my first new car, you first had to hit up a bookstore or newsstand and pick up a copy of the Edmunds pricing guide to do all your homework with. Then take your crusty Uncle Vito into the dealership with you to ensure that they didn't try to walk all over you!
