Question Taillight Sequencers

Anyone got information on the Diode Dynamics taillight sequencers for our cars? Price is much better than the other option out there. Anyone have these installed? What is your experience?

Mine arrive Tuesday, I ordered them directly from Diode Dynamics. Unfortunately I cannot install until the weekend due to being out of state for work all week. I've got a lot of there bulbs and there still working fine so I'm sure there won't be any issues with the sequencers but I will also post results and hopefully a short video.

I bought the Raxiom tail light sequencers at the $140 price point. When I received the sequencers I immediately regretted spending that much money on what was basically a bunch of wires and connectors. Sequencers should be $60 tops. There is probably about $10 worth of material in the **** things. At least the $80 price point of this brand is much more palatable.

I agree, this is something I've wanted to do but not $140 worth LOL. I don't think we're going to find a better price from a reputable vendor for a while. If you PM the Diode Dynamic person on this board they will give you free shipping so that saves $5.00.

Yeah, you can say that about most aftermarket parts. Does that stop any of us though?

You guys are right on the money. I was going to buy the Monzter branded ones for $79, but then AM got their exclusive for that product (At least that is what it appears like to me) Then the price shot up dramatically. Best I have seen, even with discounts is $124.99. I just can't get myself to do it. Just not worth that much to me.

This is still more than I want to pay, but at least it is easier to stomach. But only if they are solid and don't cause problems!

I got the Monzter branded ones at the original price before AM snatched them up. They've been in the car for almost a year and a half and they still work perfectly. Never had the slightest problem with them and like them much better than those cheap third brake light flashers for getting attention of inattentive drivers. They are more than just connectors - there's a chip in there - but not much more so they really shouldn't be anywhere near $150. After all, AM has no R&D invested in them.

I've always had good service from Diode Dynamics and their HID kits are some of the best I've ever seen so I expect their sequencer will be just as good.

Arrived today, took longer to walk from the mail box to the garage than to install!
They work great at a realistic price. Also made in the USA.

Yes they do work great. Quality product. I installed the LED front directional bulbs from Diode Dynamics last year. Very happy with all their products. By the way mailbox is 60' away. No reason to completly remove inner panel to axcess connectors. I just removed upper clip on each side and slid my hand down to install.

Raxiom TAIL LIGHT SEQUENCER vs Diode Dynamics

I purchased the Raxiom from AM a year ago for $129.00. Certainly a lot of money for what you get. Had I known about Diode Dynamics I would have definitely bought from them at $80.00...live and learn.

Placed an order last night...

Make sure you PM DD for free shipping while it is on. Great price compared to the other option. Heard nothing but good.

Will update when installed.

Same here, bought the Montzer ones about a year and a half to maybe two years ago and they took me like 5 minutes to install! Have not had any problems with them at all!

I have a couple of the DD LED bulbs and they have been pretty good too!

so....all this does is make the hazards flash sequentially and when you turn the alarm on/off, makes the taillights flash sequential?

No, it also makes the tail lights sequence whenever the brakes are applied. That's the part I like because it's different enough to get the attention of inattentive drivers behind you without being as annoying as those third brake light flashers that some have been installing.

Diode Dynamics really surprised me. Not only did they provide a code to get Free Shipping when ordered direct, but the package arrived in just a couple of days.

I am very happy with these sequencers. They are small and do not take a lot of room. Like the others above have stated they install easily and very quickly. Took maybe 10 minutes, definitely but not much more than that. Seem to be quality construction. Wiring and connectors look to be very similar specs as the factory taillight components. So far I am very happy with this purchase. Price is much better than the competitor and appears to do the same mod.

Since it is difficult to push the brake and see what the lights are doing at the same time, I put together a video. I wanted determine if the timings were right and what these sequencers were actual doing to my lights. I really had no intent of posting, but then thought this might be helpful to others. Only thing I can think of that I did not show is the Lock/Unlock sequence. Take a look...

I dunno about the DD ones but the Raxioms make every function sequential. hazards, first brake app, hazards, alarm activation/deactivation and, of course turn signals.
