Suspension question

2011 GT. If I decide to just go with lowering springs and not upgrading the struts and shocks, do I need to get new upper strut mounts, such as the GT500 strut mount?

Would new springs work with the current strut mount in the car, and would the current struts in the car even work with the GT500 upper strut mount?

The budget is pretty tight and I am trying to see if I can get by without having to get new struts/shocks.

Thanks,
griff

If you're doing just springs only, you do not need a new strut mount. I originally did Steeda Sports on my factory shocks/struts with no changes other than springs.

Your current struts will not work with GT500 mounts unless you get 2011 GT500 strut mounts. The reason to get 2010 and earlier GT500 strut mounts is to be able to put on aftermarket struts that have the 2005-2010 bolts on top.

springs only

I used ford racing K springs from american muscle. after lowering i installed cam bolts where i could correct the camber to prevent tire wear. car drives and handles very good.
