When i bought my 08 they tried to sell me these packages. They were very expensive with the install. The 400HP SC was almost 6 with over $1000 for install. Their package with the CAI and tune was $900 plus install. Plus if you rol it into your loan you are paying intrest on it.

A C6 costs a lot more and is not a Mustang. I raced a couple 08 C6's last time out at our local drag strip. All three of us were running 12.30's in the 1/4 mile that day consistently, so it was dead even all day for us.

Besides, if they offered a supercharger option to be installed at the factory, it would have to be EPA certified seperately at considerable expense! That is more than enough reason for Ford to relegate superchargers on the 4.6L to be done after-the-fact.

although pricy as a dealer added option. A lot of people will go for it for the warranty coverage and simplicity. The more options, the better IMO. Some people shy away from the thought of buying a new car then adding performance options later. This is a great alternative.

Hey, just had a thought here,
there are supposedly two SC options, one around 400hp and another at 500hp.
now fallow me here,
if the 4.6 makes 315hp and you slap on a SC, you're making around 400hp
now maybe instead of a different SC that adds 200hp,
there is the option to add the same SC package to and engine already making 400hp.
did i just blow your mind?
5.0 baby!

The 400hp blower is non-intercooled. The 500hp blower has the intercool. FRPP is using the same basic kits for the 2010 that they've been offering already for the 2005-9's - they didn't reinvent the wheel, just adapted it to the new car.

I know because I've already read the 2010 Mustang Order Guide cover to cover. I order all of our dealership's new Mustangs, so I'm paid to know what can and can't be ordered.
