"Super" Packages?

I was watching the 2010 Debut on the Speed channel, as im sure many of you were, and did you hear what he said about the "Super" packages? it sounds like you can bump a GT up to 500 horses! obviously it's going to cost something, but he also said there's more than one package - with the Stock Gt being a naturally aspirated 315 Hp, the first package a supercharged 400HP and the 2nd a Supercharged 500 horses.

I'm EFFING siked about that!

I wouldnt be surprised if the 400hp is just the 4.6 supercharged and the 500 is the GT500 (which is supercharged)

I think it's more like the current Super Snake package but for the GT, multiple ratings with different consequences as far as efficiency/warrant/etc.. The GT-500 is a complete vehicle.

It's actually on the ford racing web site just not for the 2010 yet. It shouldn't be too much different but the 4.6l supercharged 400HP version carries a 3yr/ 36,000 mile warranty as long as the dealer installs it at delivery of vehicle. other wise it's 12,000 miles if the car is already being driven. So in essence if you purchased a 2010 mustang for approx 30k you could have a 400 hp version for approx 36,000 when all said and done including the warranty. Plus your mustang only weighs in at 3500 lbs so expect that sucker to rock!!!! Oh and thats 400hp at about 5psi )))))

I'm thinking it will probably be similar to the power packages and "track packs" you can buy from Ford now, not the best on the market but **** good for a factory option

These blowers won't be "factory options." They'll be dealer installed options, purchased via FRPP, but they could be included in the financing/purchase of a new Mustang (just as they already are for the 05-09's).

Hm, that's a good side of the argument, but how do you know that? i mean, yeah if it's currently offered i can see why youd say they but hey, you never know

Why does anyone think this is some sort of big news???
You could always SC the 4.6.
But I guess not everyone knew that, so here's something else you might not know...you can SC the Challenger and I'm sure you can SC the Camaro as well- just imagine what those would do to a stock 2010 GT?

Why in hell would anyone blow their money on blowers and such. Just get a C6 Vette and be done with it.

Anyone else think Paul Randel felt awkward when talking about the "power" in the 2010. He tried to make it sound like it was big improvement, but the tone of his voice gave away his embarrassment. Thus he talked about Super packages in an effort to show that this car could have more power if you want to pay 6k+ more.

When i bought my 08 they tried to sell me these packages. They were very expensive with the install. The 400HP SC was almost 6 with over $1000 for install. Their package with the CAI and tune was $900 plus install. Plus if you rol it into your loan you are paying intrest on it.

Hell, why not get a Hemi conversion in a Jeep Wrangler! (http://www.burnsvilleoffroad.com) But I digress...at least we have the option of a SC installed from the dealer for a price.

Defeats the purpose. Mustang buyer's don't want a Vette, and Vette buyers don't want a Mustang. Apples & oranges...

I couldn't imagine having a 7.0L Hemi in my Wrangler, it would instantly become a death trap.
