sticker, spoiler removal
hi folks -
i've decided i prefer the stone interior over the black, and i've located a 2010 i like, but i really don't care for the 'mustang' sticker and i especially don't want the spoiler it comes with.
i have a hunch the sticker will peel right off without incident, but i do not know how the spoiler is affixed to the vehicle.
anyone have any experience or knowledge removing these two items they can share?
thanks,
-J

The stickers peel off very easily on a warm day or with a heat gun (hair dryer) on a cooler day. Any residue that may be left behind comes right off with a little elbow grease, bug & tar remover, or "Goof Off."
The spoiler is bolted on (open the trunk and you'll see the retaining nuts). So, you'll have to fill the holes or swap trunk lids on a car that was ordered w/o the rear wing. I special ordered my 07 GT w/o the rear spoiler so I didn't have to deal with the holes.

I've heard of quite a few people getting dealers to do this. Makes their unsold, plain no-spoiler more marketable with a wing and it would still be brand new. Just gotta find a car the same color on the lot.

What exterior color?
I have the stripe and all most had the dealer remove it. 4 months later and the stripe is growing on me.
I think your crazy to remove the spoiler, but that just my personal taste. Did you try the x plan like I suggested?
Please change your user name I'm catching myself singing various John Denver songs once I'm on here for a while.

Spoilers are very subjective. Here's my GT that I ordered w/o a rear spoiler. Makes for very clean body lines, IMO.....

i just have a thing against spoilers. too many vehicles that are not sporty have them. trashed out civics with walmart plastic chrome hubcaps come to mind. probably a generational thing - but they ruin the look of the 2010mustang for me.

+ 1. The only 2010 spoiler I can stomach is the one for the rear view camera. The 2010 doesn't look quite as good as the 05-09 without a spoiler, but no spoiler is stilll better than having a pedestal spoiler.

Speaking from experience, removing the spoiler is a PITA. Unbolting isn't an issue, but getting the double-stick tape to let go takes a long time. If you try to pull the spoiler up, you may damage the spoiler, but you WILL damage the deck lid. I ended up using a combination of a heat gun (hair dryer) and fishing line to break the tape without having to pull on it. Took about 2 hours and lots of patience. Then filled the holes and painted.
Depending on your level of patience, it may be well worth having a body shop give you a quote for the whole shootin' match. Then you can sit back and have a beer while someone else yells four letter words at your car instead of you. That's worth a good bit of coin to me!

I cooked dinner for John Denver twice when I worked at a very nice restaurant 20+ years ago in the Seattle area. His songs are catchy - then and now. Rocky Mountain High, anyone?

I am also a fan of the no spoiler look. I seriously doubt that it does anything at all in terms of aerodynamics and downforce. The 2010 looks better than the 05-09, but I would still get rid of it.

Thanks, MBK. Subtle and stealth is my calling card. Many people mistake my 07 GT for a V6 model (I have the V6 pony pkg grille and fender emblems), so it's entertaining to whoop someone at the track and leave them scratching their head in wonder.
