Starter on Back order

Well I have a 2011 5.0 and so far I have logged 6888 miles and I love this car but now I find out there is a problem with the starter and over 300 starters are on back order. My dealer told me it will be 20 Dec if I'm lucky. So far I have had the Air bag replaced and now the starter. Thats still better than the GTO, and two Skys I had, in one year I have 3 Diff replaced and GTO would leek oil at the rate of a qt a week the dealer never could fix it. GM ended up buying it... Seal9

So, you didn't say what the starter problem is.

Welcome aboard! Sorry you're having bad luck with your Stang. I hope this is not another problem that will drive us all crazy.

Good advice. We call it "mechanically agitating" the part, but it works.

Yes I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Gone through 3 starters. When they acted up and it would not start I carried a hammer. A good wack worked everytime. Fixes "the hang" that occurs.

Always more impressive to fix it yourself within minutes than it is to wait an hour and a half for AAA to show up.
