Spring is here, planning some mods, opinions

So planning to do a few mods for the car this year, I am hoping for new wheels, h pipe, maybe different lowering springs, and CAI/tune.

I want to go to a staggered 20's setup, but I want to increase the overall diameter to keep some more sidewall. I'm lowered currently on Steeda Sports, so I figure the bigger diameter will also help fill in some of the wheel gap. I live in NYC and the streets are pretty bad, plus 20s with the skinnier sidewalls just don't look right to me. I am planning to get DF5s from LMR or the 551s from AM, they are 20" 8.5/10. My car is a TP with the 19" Brembo wheels, I was planning to go 255/40/20 in the front and 285/35/20 rear, or maybe a little bigger if I can. The front overall diameter is going to be 1" bigger and about 0.8" in the rear, is that an okay setup to run? I know the speedometer might be off by 2 miles. My other choice would be to get 19" staggered wheels and get new springs.

Also was thinking of getting a H-pipe, mainly for louder sound. Only exhaust mod I have is Borla S axlebacks, I want to keep my stock cats for NY emissions, is there going to be much different in sound if I run a H-pipe after the cats? I am thinking about getting the MRT aftercat H-pipe.

Last thing is probably going for Steeda CAI/93 tune, is a catted H pipe going to do much with a tune? It will probably be more towards the end of summer anyway since my car will be paid off before end of the year.

Thanks for your input.

If I were you,...get your ride height/suspension set up first before deciding on your wheel/tire size. Also,...pick the brain of the wheel/tire supplier as much and best you can and explain what you want over and over again to make sure they got it. (get it in writing, of course.)
I would love a staggered set up as well, but that's at the very bottom of my list and the list goes on and on. lol Actually, I would love a new GT500 when it comes out, depending on how it looks and performance wise. Gotta be a beast with gobs of power and torque, perform like a beast and handle really well for me to be interested.
I have been eyeing a TON of stuff on VMP's website all the time and am chomping at the bit to drop some serious coin for some stupid power and torque gains. Like, well over 600rwhp and over 520rwtq. So, I know the mod feeling.
Good luck bro and keep us posted!

I don't mind the Steeda Sports I have on now, yes, I wish it was lower, but I don't want to go more than a 1.5" drop since the car is my daily. If I go 20s, I would most likely keep the suspension setup I have now.

Sounds like you know what you want then!
Good luck and keep us posted. Looking forward to your results.

The H pipe is a big sound booster and delete the resonators at the same time. The stock H pipe is very restrictive and mutes the sound. Happy modding!

The 20's will look good with the sports. I'd do that and get a tune. You'll be able to sync the speedometer with whatever tire size you choose so you'll still get an accurate reading.

Thanks, I just want a little louder deeper tone.

Also decided I might just stick with 19s and get the RTRs, or the new Tech 7. Just seems like 20s will not be a very comfortable ride.

I agree. I like the X pipe more than a H pipe.
