Sound Pipe Delete

I originally posted this over on the Boss 302 section but members have reminded me that many more Mustang owners may be interested to clean up their engine bay. You can read about the delete kit and flip through numerous pictures if you follow this link.

I dunno....I kinda like my "Sound Pipe".
Sounds good inside when I want it too after taking out the sponge!

I don't ever "Show Off" my engine bay....or pop the hood for any car shows.

+1 but it's a personal taste thing. Nice to know the option to remove it entirely is there.

I think that it adds some welcome rawness that the car needs. Mine is staying.

Ordered last night...this is one of those "cheap" mods you can try and if you don't like it, you can reverse it. I thought it was worth a try just for curiosity sake.

Installed today. Only a slight noticeable difference, but the engine bay looks nicer!!

I am always willing to remove weight from the front of the car. The more rear percent all the better for rear traction. I like to have as few things in the engine compartment as possible. Remember ounces ad up to pounds.
If you look around the engine compartment, there are things that can be removed to save weight. How much does that ol sound pipe weigh ?

I especially like the arrow on the filter box that shows which way the air flows. Haha

Maybe a pound with all the hose. It's more of an eyesore than anything. You'll save more weight using the bathroom before a track event.

Pulled mine off today. Does clean up the engine compartment quite a bit.
Doesn't weigh very much, like previous poster said.

Did mine today. So easy, a caveman could do it. Very happy with the results. Props to Kendall and the gang for providing this for us!

I just came back from a short trip on the Interstate, and the removal of the sound tube has made a difference in the noise level inside the car. It was much quieter cruising at 75, which is where I spend most of my time. The sound level from the exhaust and the engine are still there when accelerating, but not as intrusive inside the car, just a nice muffled, throaty sound. And, as I said in the Boss 302 thread, you can actually see the dip stick and get to it much easier.

All in all this was $14.00 well spent.
