I've spent considerable seat time in 2005+ Mustang GTs, BULLITTs and Shelby GTs and the BULLITT and Shelby GT are both phenomenal. But there are a handful of issues I have with that bodystyle that prevented me from signing on the dotted line.

I LOVE the 2010 refresh as it fixes everything I didn't like with the '05 - '09, both inside & out. The 4.6L 3V is a great engine in its own right, but I can't justify a new car payment for just the freshened sheetmetal & updated interior.

I'd rather have the new bodystyle AND the new engine, so I'll continue to wait patiently for a late-build 2011 or early 2012 with the 5.0L/400 hp engine. That will also give me time to make up my mind between Grabber Blue, Kona Blue & Torch Red!!

this is for fdjizm in post #12. First of all i never said that the ONLY reason i would get the car is for the reason of the bigger motor or the feeling of the first one on the block with one ok? Yea its a great feeling to have that but i have my 2005 right now cause im a true mustang fan just like you and everyone else here. I have owned nothing else but ford products so dont confuse me with other people. And, no this is not a attack towards you, i am just stating that we are all here cause we bleed blue.

I'll be waiting for the 5.0/ and hoping for the 6 speed and Competition Orange to comeback. If I get all 3 of those then I will be ordering an 2011 as soon as they make the announcement and banks are open! : )

At this moment in time I'm not interested in the 2010, or '11.
I just traded my 08 Bullitt in on an new 08 GT500. I've always wanted a Shelby and now I have one. So that car will certainly hold me over until I see what develops in the next couple of years. I certainly don't need anymore HP. The new re-style doesn't do much for me, but I'm happy for all of those who are going to be buying one.
I'm sure you'll love it and love driving it!

Not waiting! NO WAY.

Either at the press conference and the Speed Reveal, I remember hearing them say there will be two Track Packs offering 400 and 500 hp, respectively......So I can get the new bodystyle, sequential lamps, 19" sweet wheels, awesome Audi-quality interior, and as much horsepower as a Shelby? I'll take mine NOW, please!!!!!!!

I'm waiting for summer 2011, if the 5.0 isn't in then I'll just have to build it myself. (I was going to do it this coming summer in my current 06, but I love the new body).

awesome guys, keep your opinions coming. i know theres alot more people out there. keep em coming

if the 5.0 doesnt get offered then i have no choice but to get the 4.6 again. i myself would be building a killer 2011 stang if the 5.0 is not offered.

Not in the market for a car right now, but the 5.0 GT will be on my list. My hope is that with the upgraded power, Ford also upgrades the brakes and does some minor tweaks to the suspension.

The track packs will not offer the 400 and 500hp upgrades. You'll have to install those superchargers as a dealer option. You'll be looking at 5k+ to get 400hp.

There are two different track packs.
  • GT Track Package I (manual only)
    • Performance front brake pads
    • 3.73 axle ratio
    • Recalibrated AdvanceTrac®
  • GT Track Package II (manual only, late availability)
    • Performance front/rear brake pads
    • GT500 Sta-Bars and rear lower control arms
    • Retuned struts and shocks
    • 19-inch Pirelli Summer tires
    • 3.73 axle ratio with carbon plates in the differential
    • Recalibrated AdvanceTrac®, traction control and anti-lock brakes

Buying a 2010, 315 bhp is plenty to get me to and from work.

The new interior is good, but nowhere close to Audi quality.

2011+. Need to see the new powertrains. 5.0 may be available in 2011, but it has been reported elsewhere that the GDI won't be on it initially. May be 2012 or later to get the 400 HP and better MPG than the 4.6 - all on 87 octane...

You can get both with simple track pak options.

I'll be wating on the 2010 to save money and get the 5.0. But I wouldn't mind a 2010....
