Hi friends. I got a set of Boss 302S rims from Ford Racing for the 2012 GTCS.

I know we talk alot about tires but I was hoping you all could help me find the best looking tire, price, and correct SIZE for these rims.

19x9 Fronts
19x10 Rears
Authentic NOT replicas. Not sure if that matters.

Any help and pics are appreciated.

I checked my mail and didn't have those.:jester:

Gorgeous! I have MPSS, good for track days, good for street, harsh ride, and pricey. My next set I'm going to try Firestone's new Indy 500, great price (255/40 F & 285/35 R).

MSPP is a good choice. I can also highly recommend the Bridgestone Potenza S04. Very similar performance to MSPP (slightly slower), but they ride softer and are ~20% less expensive. I'd choose the same sizes Pete mentioned.

Ditto on size. I have the Bridgestones mentioned in the post right above me. I love them.

Being that you have a CS and have the 245/45/19s now, I'd do 255/40 up front and 275/40 in the rear to keep the height the same as stock for your speedometer and aesthetics.

Thanks for the replies all. Folks here been telling me that (255/40 F & 285/35 R) is the way to go...

Patrick!

How much would it throw the speedo off? Same rim height- but are the tires lower profile on the Boss?

laserred38 10/24/16 09:32 AM

After punching it in on willtheyfit.com the difference is like 1mph. Idk if that's worth the difference to you, but the 255/285 combo will also be 1/2" shorter overall than your current tires. At stock ride height, it's noticeable.

Is the 275 wider and not just taller? My biggest fear is the lip of the rim sticking out if that makes sense.

Nice looking wheel. That is going to look killer!

MadcapMagician 10/24/16 05:32 PM

I so want these rims on my Mustang.

It's only money. Go for it!

These are very nice wheels. Congrats!

Here is another Tire Size Comparison tool:

I like how this one gives visual representation and speed differences at different speeds.

Widest I'd go on those front rims is 265/40/19
On the rears, ideal is 275/40 or 285/35, but you can even push it to a 305/35/19

Siber Express 10/25/16 10:46 AM

275/40 F 285/40 R or 255/40 F 285/35 R
I went square on mine with the 9 inch wheels and 275/40 19 Continental DW's on all 4 corners
As you can see there is no wheel showing and it still peaks out at 1.2 g's with this set up.

What do people think of the Pirelli P Zeros that come on these cars? My two trips to Deal's Gap have been amazing on these tires. They even get hot and blister up nice and stuff sticks to them. I was impressed.

Mickey thompson street comp, they looks really good, and are great price for the performance they offer, decent tread wear too

would recommend 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear

If you think the Pirelli P Zeros did well on the Dragon wait until you get a good tire up there, I had the 255/40 19 P Zeros and the Continentals leave them in the dust.

A 255/35/19 tire is 26" tall, whereas the OP's stock tires are 27.68" tall (245/45/19)
So you're recommending really short tires, something that without any lowering springs, will lower the car by almost an inch by themselves.
And have no sidewall in the process.
Even the rear 275/35/19's are only 26.57" tall ... still an inch shorter than his stock size
