So much for my Job2 build
I specifically requested a Job2 build, but unfortunately they pulled it early and it started production already. My salesman is an awesome guy and contacted me immediately this morning, to see if I wanted him to reorder it. I told him no, I want this car. After pulling up the window sticker and seeing my name on it, how could I pass? Oh well, Job 1 it is!

That is what I thought too, originally. The 120100817 at the top that you are referring to must be when the build is finished. The 1 before the 20100817 means Job1. My production began during Job 1 so that is what it is. Production process began 8/3.

That's what I thought too. However, the Vehicle Visibility shows the car as "bucked", thus starting the process 8/3. Is it possible that my car is starting production during Job1 and ending during Job2? I would never have questioned the 8/17 build date on the sticker, except my dealer called, telling me Ford pulled it early and it will be Job1. Whatever, it's gonna rock regardless of build date!

Thanks! It sounds like my dealer might have given me some misleading information. 8/17 Job2 it is!

Oops...Those guys are gonna be hung over having just come off vacation!......J/K.
Seriously though, I bought an '08 Corvette built the second day of production (in 2007) for the new LS3....There were so many QC guys walking down the line to assure the new build was right, the car was perfect. Good luck!

Who knows...
Regardless, the only changes for job 2 I show from a FOMOCO document are:
V6 performance package (67B)
18x8 wide spoke wheels with black chrome
Yellow Blaze Metallic
California special car cover (with that package)

The reality is that too much emphasis is put on "Job 1" vs "Job 2". "Job 2" is more of a "deadline" than anything, a date set in VO's (Vehicle Operations) timetable to have the extra features ready by.
It's not so much that suddenly the "Job 2" cars get better parts, it's when extra options (as mentioned by Modshack) come online. So unless you are ordering a car with the features mentioned above, then there won't be many changes if any at all.
For example, if you ordered a "Yellow Blaze" car, you wouldn't suddenly get Red Candy if it got built early!
Engineering updates happen all the time. If it's an important change, they will implement it on the fly. They won't wait until "Job 2".

The ones that bothered me most were Heads, Manual Trans and VCT Parts.

All right, you made me look up my previous post. Here it is:
I work "in" a Ford plant, and am involved often when there is engineering changes (Edge/MkX/Flex/MkT). Like I said, changes are made all the time.

The only way to know for certain which changes were actually made would be to look at the vehicle's bill of materials of a car made Aug 15 and one made the day after.

... and in reality, (not to panic anyone, because it's just the nature of the business) not all changes are for the benefit of the customer. Some are for cost-savings.
