A Shelby to Remember
This is my buddies '11 GT500 SVTPP.
It's such an amazing car! I've been drooling over it ever since I met him. Today he took me for my first ride in it. Halfway into the cruise, he pulls over and hands me the keys!
It was my turn behind the wheel! First thing I noticed was the feel of the clutch. It was much firmer than the 5.0. Grabbing ahold of that shift **** felt like the first time I ever got some mouthski, I was a little nervous, but knew I was in for a hell of a time! I immediately noticed difference in the shifting too. The side to side throw was much further than that of my Steeda Tri-Ax in the 5.0, but the throw between gears is actually feels shorter. Pulling out of the driveway of that Chevron station had me feeling reborn! I immediately got on it without any trepidation! I took the freeway onramp aggressively eager to feel how the SVTPP held up! I was very impressed! I rowed through the gears getting into the freeway and settled around 80 and listened to the beast purr! I got off the freeway and dropped the hammer in 2nd and 3rd before taming the Shelby and bringing her back to the parking lot where my lil 5.0 was waiting for me.
I made this quick little video of his car.

Nice! Fun to watch man.
A huge difference between those 2 Mustangs. Driving that GT500 will get you noticed. All of the time. I'll take the 5.0.

I'm still learning mine everytime I drive her ! Like you said I really feel the difference between the shifter/clutch f the 5.0 I test drove and my GT500.....I love te 500 shifter ! And from my opinion, under 4000 RPM both cars pulls the same, or close enough anyway.....but above 4000 RPM, the beats wakes up and she pull really hard.

Borla prototype Long Tube Headers with Off Road X Pipe and S-Type Catback.
He actually lent Borla his car for the R&D for the exhaust system, hence the "prototype". This setup will wake the dead!
Really? You'd still prefer the 5.0? I'd love a Shelby, but I'm not getting one anytime soon. This is my 3rd S197 Mustang, so if I get anything else it will be a Raptor.
I love my car, but it's no Shelby!

Like you said, the clutch/shifter/tranny all feel much different. I've had no issues with my MT-82, but that Shelby was fun to bang gears with!
You gotta do it. It's also nice to be the passenger in your own car. You feel the power in a whole new way. Something about being behind the wheel and in control makes it feel a lot less powerful than being a defenseless passenger.

I have always used the less is more approach. I love sleepers. Maybe if I had a GT500 that was black with stripe delete I could get by. Love the car & the whine!
