Or you can buy the 19" from the base Shelby model (used):

I'd like them (the ones from the base model) but anthracite.
I thought you were talking about the carroll Shelby wheel company wheels.

That's kind of what happened to me. Went from an '08 GT/CS, to an '08 Shelby GT, to an '11 SVTPP. Would have saved a lot of time, money, and other headaches if I'd have just bought a 500 to begin with in '07 when I got the GT/CS. But I wasn't paying an ADM, and now I'm glad it worked out the way it did. Got one that I like better than any I've ever seen, with more features, more power, etc. for a better price than I could have bought one for in '07. I'm content.

For now.

I was kinda in your same boat about a month ago.....had a 2012 loaded 5.0 on order. Due to the ridiculous wait and some dealership issues I found a 2010 Shelby GT500 for slightly more than what my 2012 5.0 was gonna be. The Shelby was virtually brand new and went with it instead of the 5.0. I can't really speak to what things would have been like if I had waited for the 5.0 since that's not the path I chose, but I can say how that GT500 (even the 2010 model without the SVTPP) is an AMAZING machine!!! I am Soooo glad I went with the Shelby that I can't believe I was ever considering a 5.0!! If u can afford it, I would absolutely get the Shelby!!! Like others have said, u live once. The shelby is basically a supercar. When I tell people I bought a mustang and then they see the car, the reaction is usually something like, "that ain't no 'mustang,' that's a ****in GT500!!!!"

Don't get me wrong, didn't buy the car cuz of what others think, bought the car for ME. And every time I get in it or look at it I think, "i have a ****in GT500!!!"

.......supercar, need I say more?

I'm not sure about the veracity of this? but I've been told the Shelby uses a smaller altenator to reduce the load on the crank since it also has to drive the supercharger.

I finally made up my mind ! The red Shelby 500 has been sold last week....my bad !

I finally signed up for another Shelby GT 500, convertible, Kona blue with the SVT PP. I don't like very much the SVT wheels, but I'm very happy to have the SVT package...

I'll take reception thursday, and will probably have to find a good place to install 2 white stripes on the hood anf the back, since mine has the stripes delete option.

Pictures coming soon..

Congrats! I think you'll love it, it's a fantastic car. The massive torque everywhere is so addictive. Its just so much fun to cruise around in.

Not needed. Punch it in a 500 and you will feel your @ss heat up.

When it hooks and the air is cool and dry outside, it makes me feel kind of light headed by the middle of second gear. Good stuff.

Absolutely beautiful, lemarin! Congrats! I am jealous. If I could have afforded it, I definitely would have gotten a GT500 convertible, no doubt about it!

Thanks guys, I really love the car and the color. Now I need to buy an air deflector to install between the seats, otherwise I'll be sick after 100 km !
