Shaker Speakers / other Questions
So I just got my 2013 v6 Premium yesterday and I've been playing with it quite a bit. Upon further examination, I cannot find all the speakers that it should have.
From the ordering packet:
ShakerTM
System
Includes or replaces features of single-CD with
MP3 capability plus:
• 8 speakers
– One 1" tweeter in each door
– One 5.5" x 7.5" midrange speaker in each door
– Two 8" subwoofers in trunk
– Two full-range speakers in back
I found both the door speakers and 2 speakers that are mounted in the trunk, but are aimed up behind where the rear seats are. That leaves 2 speakers that I cannot locate.
My other issue, there isn't a spare tire. Is this a normal thing?
Thanks.

The speakers in the trunk should be the subwoofers. There are two speakers on either side of the passenger seats.

it was a very late option in 2012 (I think) for a spare tire. My 2011 came with a can of "fix a flat" and a mini air compresser from the factory. You can now buy a spare donut tire option.
Do you at least have the compresser and fix a flat can? Maybe when the car was prepped, they forgot to include the spare. I'd check with the dealer ASAP.

yeah, the speakers in the back behind the seats sound like full range speakers. I can't hear anything to the sides when I'm in the back seat, just front and behind. Maybe that's the problem?

well I feel like an idiot. I was under the assumption that the subs were in the trunk as well. Apparently, the subs are also in the door down at the bottom. The mid range/tweeter combo is up and away from the front of the car / subwoofer. I set the fade too far back to notice it before. /bonk

The new speakers still looks like a 6x9" form factor so any of those speakers look like they would still fit. But the new speaker look like it is better quality than the old original ones so maybe they don't need to be replaced?

the size is similar to the 6x8 speaker, but the plastic peice that the speakers are mounted in is one peice and would have to be highly modified to accommodate a 6x8 speaker, a lot of cutting and drilling.
