Shaker Speakers / other Questions

So I just got my 2013 v6 Premium yesterday and I've been playing with it quite a bit. Upon further examination, I cannot find all the speakers that it should have.

From the ordering packet:
ShakerTM
System
Includes or replaces features of single-CD with
MP3 capability plus:
• 8 speakers
– One 1" tweeter in each door
– One 5.5" x 7.5" midrange speaker in each door
– Two 8" subwoofers in trunk
– Two full-range speakers in back

I found both the door speakers and 2 speakers that are mounted in the trunk, but are aimed up behind where the rear seats are. That leaves 2 speakers that I cannot locate.

My other issue, there isn't a spare tire. Is this a normal thing?

Thanks.

The feel of the car when I turn the bass all the way up seems lacking, so I'm thinking it's missing the subwoofers in the trunk. idk :/

Spare tires are not included, very normal.

I haven't really looked for my speakers, it's not the most powerful system but it's nice.

The speakers in the trunk should be the subwoofers. There are two speakers on either side of the passenger seats.

it was a very late option in 2012 (I think) for a spare tire. My 2011 came with a can of "fix a flat" and a mini air compresser from the factory. You can now buy a spare donut tire option.

Do you at least have the compresser and fix a flat can? Maybe when the car was prepped, they forgot to include the spare. I'd check with the dealer ASAP.

yeah, the speakers in the back behind the seats sound like full range speakers. I can't hear anything to the sides when I'm in the back seat, just front and behind. Maybe that's the problem?

The Shaker available in the v6 premium is supposed to have 2 8". The Shaker pro in the GT and up is 2 10" subs.

well I feel like an idiot. I was under the assumption that the subs were in the trunk as well. Apparently, the subs are also in the door down at the bottom. The mid range/tweeter combo is up and away from the front of the car / subwoofer. I set the fade too far back to notice it before. /bonk

I have a GT premium with the shaker and I would assume it to be the same...hmmm. Now I got to find some aftermarket speakers to replace them with.

When I got my 2010 GT Premimum I replaced the 2 top door speakers and it made a great improvement in sound. Attached is a photo of the oriignal speaker and a photo of the replacement speaker. Just looking at the magnet size of the old speakers makes you wonder how the stock speakers can handle any power.

Yes one in each door. If you ordered the Shaker Pro then there's an additional one in the trunk

These speakers will not fit in the door of a 2013 with the standard shaker system. This is one of the changes of the new shaker system.

The new speakers still looks like a 6x9" form factor so any of those speakers look like they would still fit. But the new speaker look like it is better quality than the old original ones so maybe they don't need to be replaced?

the size is similar to the 6x8 speaker, but the plastic peice that the speakers are mounted in is one peice and would have to be highly modified to accommodate a 6x8 speaker, a lot of cutting and drilling.
