Had one problem with AM, but they fixed it fast and beyond my expectations. I love that they will e-mail you when an item is back in stock too, so you don't miss it. I've picked up a couple mods that way. No complaints here.

Oh LORDY LORDY LORDY... here we go again. Seems like a dissatisfaction thread every 2 weeks or so, lol. Sorry I didn't see this thread till this pm.

Danielle, Danielle... why oh why did you fall for that bait? tsk tsk. Sorry to hear your situation. What's the old adage? "fool me once, etc etc etc". My advice, get your money back...it's not worth the heartache and agony, just to save a few bucks. Many many many other vendors out there who will treat you better and not have a million and one excuses for why they're not accountable. "Not the norm" they say. It's funny how when a number of issue threads have popped up lately, including my own personal experience, also other folks who have pm'd me about their issues with them, yet they claim, it's "not the norm". LOL. Ummm... that's what "norm" means.

Anyways, again, sorry to hear of your situation. But life's too short. Enjoy your car, and buy your mods from someone/somewhere that will keep you happy. End of story. It's not worth it.

Agree. LMR is great to deal with.

American Muscle seems to be expanding very quickly and maybe it's difficult for them to keep items in stock? If AM isn't your thing, Late Model Restoration, CJPony Parts, and Hypermotive Performance are other excellent choices.
Amen to that. You can also cound on great communication from all those vendors too.

AM should not sell items they do not have in stock. There's a reason most websites don't

Seems like business is booming for AM and they are having trouble keeping up with demand. Hopefully they will hook you up.

instead I just got them from my local dealership, after a month of waiting.

I got their tuner and tunes, and went through at least a dozen revisions. Never did get the "cam" tune to be stalling free. did datalogging and the whole deal.

gave up on that. spent a considerable amount of time on that.

back in January there was a thread about tuning issues with them.

https://themustangsource.com/f800/ba...2-fail-527195/

I expressed my dissatisfaction with their service.

They offered to sell me a wind deflector at a discount.

I was then in the hospital shortly after dealing with my Leukemia diagnosis and the fallout from that.

Well once I got better I did it like an idiot. I took the bait. I ordered that wind deflector from them.

It was and still is on backorder. It's been over a month now.

THIS IS WHAT I'M TOLD??????

9:19 AM (20 minutes ago)

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately the deflector is still on backorder, we are expecting it to be back in stock Early June. Would you like to stay on the backorder list?

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us. Thanks and have a great day.

My reply:

June? Are you serious? How does one month become three when I can get the identical product from multiple vendors right now?

I have had a huge amount of bad luck with AM. Half the time I buy stuff it's out of stock. Your guys offered me a huge discount on the deflector as goodwill to get my service back, and now you are telling me that you can't follow through for three months?

Three months for a wind deflector. BTW, I'm pretty sure that stupid deflector was out of stock in January as well. Guess I will never win with AM, ever.

ironically the MMD has a literal 100% identical design to the CDC deflector, which is readily available now.

and here i was going to get the deflector and the MMD styling bar from you guys. Maybe not anymore. Shouldn't have taken the bait for a part on a discount.
I feel your pain.

A year after I bought my Mach 1 I was ready to put some parts in her. Planned on getting the JLT RAI with the SCT Tuner

A good $500.

Well I called AM during the week, spoke with a representative for about 15 minutes on the pros and if there were an cons and so forth.

After feeling pleased with the information I had heard (although the rep was rude) I told him I would like to make my purchase the following day as my money had not hit my checking account.

He said we can put it on hold for you(reserve) no problem.

I call back the next day very excited with credit card in hand.... And go figure they can't even find my information....even worse, it was all out of stock.

After I was just told a day earlier it was being held for me.

With that and the disappointing things I continue to see with AM and now more and more issues with the SCT I said screw that and them.

Not gonna spend my hard earned money if I can't be treated with respect from some one who represents the company. (Rep was pushy and didn't seem to want to help me)

My only complaints are the outdated/inconsistent photos on the site. The service and shipping time have been exceptional.

For example: 10-14 pony floormats. Picture shows the dead pedal flap in one pic but not the other. That's a biggie when it comes to that set of mats!

GT/CS illuminated door sills: picture is a generic photoshop job with computer text mocked up for the pic. Not seeing the actual item pic made me not buy it. What if it arrived looking like a cheap Chinese knockoff with fuzzy type?

^ Patrick... I'm glad things went well and smooth for you. However, it's not the case with a number of other folks, including myself. Consistency is the key word here. Again, I'm not doubting that you and others had great experiences. But others, as well, have not had such a great experience. And it's that inconsistency, that's troubling, and why you'll never find me on their website or on the phone with them.

No problems with A.M. here My problem has always been with Bama and there crap tunes. I go to Hypermotive and LMR if I can then A.M. Dan says this is not the "norm" and maybe he is right and maybe it isnt. We won't really know because most Mustang owners who may mod there cars aren't on any forums.

Then again, I've only made 6 or so transactions. Lol

I have also had good experience with LateModel. I will also be giving Jay a try when I get paid.

There's only one company that will never earn my business again. You know who you are!

Typically when a company is having a ton of inventory issues and other suppliers are not it is the sign of one of two things.

Either the company is poorly managed, which isn't good, or they are having issues paying their vendors. Either way it's an issue.
Nope, not affliated with them in ANY way. They have simply sold me parts for years, and as such, my orders dont involved dialing 1-800 or logging unto the website.

As for AM, I`d say its more of a case of growing too large too fast, and a failure to forcast properly to meet today`s consumer expecations of "instant gratification" - Which doesnt work well when it takes 3-6 months to get more stock manufactured & shipped in from China.

As for my posting.... I have an actual social life, a girlfriend, run my own business, have started a full restore project of a `69 Mach 1, and am involved with several local & regional mustang groups/events. Thus the .com`s of the world really dont get much of my time outside of reading for info, and calling out hypocrits that cannot take what they dish out.

hypocrite? You should look up the definition. Your grammar also sucks.

Did you have to apply for this job or are you a self proclaimed troll?

You sound like a real important person. I am so glad you decided to grace us with your presence and make this your 31st post in over a year.

What was that about hypocrite? Oh yeah. I got it.

You are barking up the wrong tree.

There's tons of companies out there that do not stock all the parts they sell. I happen to work for one of those .com sellers. What we do in that case is list a some what accurate lead time and suggest our customers to call us if they want it sooner than the lead time listed. If the customer calls us, we in turn call our supplier find out what actual lead time is add a few days and then call our customer and let them know what we found out. I think that is a very fair way to do things in that situation.

I'm wondering how many sales per day AM has and how many customers call them with a problem per day? AM Dan is there any way we can get you to tell us how many sales you have per day?

At any rate I will bet 99% of AM customers walk away with a good experience. All companies have unhappy customers it is a fact of life.

Dan I expect a 6.2 discount code on my next purchase.

Go with Hypermotive, they are a smaller company and actually give a **** about their customers. I've not had any issues, nothing but up front and accurate communication.

You have to take complaint threads with a big grain of salt. Companies that stay in business offer good products/services at a fair price, those that don't, go out of business. The problem here is that let's say 90+ percent of sales go through without a problem, and nobody takes the time to sing their praise for doing their job. But run into a snag with a back ordered item, and out come the negative posts.

Don't want to wait? Shop elsewhere. You may pay a higher price, but the competitor has it stock, so what do you want? Be cheap and wait, or pay a bit more and get what you want?

Life is too short to get uptight about back ordered merchandise. No need to get all Veruca Salt on the world. I learned a lot from my manager who had to deal with all kinds of irate customers over the years. One of the biggest things was to just let customer vent, get it off their chest. Once they have had their say, either to just yell for a tension release, or demand a pound of flesh if they don't get what they want, more often than not they calm down, and then the issue can be worked in a calm and rational manner.

This isn't the first vendor flame thread, nor will it be the last. The consumer market in the end will decide who survives. It's easy to do business when there are zero problems, no delays or mistakes, but the human factor will sometimes deal you a bad hand. How *you* deal with it is more important than what went wrong on the other side.
