28lbs won't really make or break you in performance. Yes every bit counts, but if you're that concerned then don't get the comfort group, elec package, or anything else. Just get a base with 3.73's and brembo package.

Most people won't get it simply because of cost

You wouldn't be if you knew what my job was. I guard the compound that my LPWS mount resides in. That involves sitting in an air-conditioned shack for 8 hours a day and seeing if anybody comes to the gate. I have a fridge, microwave, 6-speaker surround sound system, and internet via wi-fi (it costs $145 a month, but it's worth it). So, for 8 hours a day, I pretty much play games (Fallout 3 at the moment), surf the intarwebz and make bad flowcharts for people. My connection is 192kbps, and I have a 1.6gb cap every week. Sucks, but when the only internet is through a satellite, you deal with it. It's not so bad.

Thanks for your service anyway.
Thank you for the support, and I'll have you know that I have a veritable cornucopia of lexical knowledge. When I was a child, I would get bored and read the encyclopedia set we had (all 28 volumes!), and when I got done with that I read Webster's unabridged dictionary for fun. To say I was a bit of a strange child would be an understatement, but on the internet, where one's apparent intelligence is determined by the depth (and jocularity) of their written prose, it has come in handy. I also got beat up a lot.

Speaking of jocularity, if you were in truth being facetious (and not just projecting an ersatz facetiousness ex post facto), it would be wise to advertise the fact, perhaps with a smiley? Just sayin'. I cannot glean your intentions through my delightful 17" laptop screen without some sort of aid.

Oh, and going back on topic, Yes, the glass roof will affect track-handling ability, but by a very small amount. It weighs 28 lbs more than the metal roof, yes, and it does raise the CG by a very small amount, but I feel this shouldn't be an exclusionary factor if you are not also forgoing all the other creature comforts in the name of weight. Basically, if you're getting the comfort package and electronics package, saying the glass roof weighs too much is a BS hypocritical excuse. You *****.

Don't most tracks exclude 'verts and glass roof cars for safety? I don't think it's the weight as much as the safety limitation.

Jason, I was impressed with your lexical diversity but confused with your use of the word "delightful" preceding "17" laptop screen." It just seems so . . . inappropriate.

Perhaps I should've said delightful, for a 17" laptop screen. I have an Asus G72 and its screen is very nice, compared to others I've used. Even though it's only 1600x900.

Is this the consenus? Has this been proven or tested?

I noticed a lot of the 1/4 mile test cars so far have been hardtops
When I mentioned that, I'm more concerned about raising the center of gravity on the vehicle than the actual weight of the glass roof, but they come hand in hand. For a road course/autocross, you want that CG as low as possible.

Oh how I love the glass roof from a spectators perspective. Unfortunately from a driver's, it's hard to utilize as much. Don't know if my new car will have it or not but I like it a lot!

Both very valid reasons, and more power to you.

Hail breaking through the glass and killing you; magic human-seeking lightning going through the glass and killing you; turning the car into an oven, killing you; the glass melting in "massive" 130 degree heat, dripping molten lava onto you and killing you; shattering into a million razor-sharp pieces, cutting your jugular (and junk) open and killing you...

You might laugh, but I have SEEN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE postulated as reasons the glass roof is bad and will kill you and you shouldn't get it. Anybody with a f***ing shred of intellectual and analytical capability (and even the slightest inkling for basic research) will know in about six seconds that all those theories are pure, unadulterated, high clarity, USDA Grade A bull****.

Seriously.

Here, I made a flowchart for all of you. Hopefully you will find this very... illuminating.
Friggin' awesome! LMAO

Jason, i just had a look at the pics you posted on another thread up there, and you made my morning decision to change my order and add the glass roof so much easier. It does look to be a really great compromise between vert and coupe. So i e-mailed Paul this morning and got it. I'm sure i won't regret it for a second. Thx for the pics. Looks awesome.

If I was ordering, I'd without a doubt go with this and electronics/nav package.

I'm no freakin hi-fi or tech kind of guy, and to me the nav just wouldn't be worth it. This car will be an occasional driver only, read week-ends when it's nice out, and maybe a few evenings weekdays, and for short period of times. Just couldn't justify the price to SWMBO. Oh well.

Great choice Dan, and I'm sure there are lots of beautiful places up in Montreal where you can go for a drive and enjoy the view!

You make me sad. I was going to order a 2011 in Sterling Gray/Saddle with the Electronics Pkg, Comfort Pkg, Brembo Pkg and Glass Roof.

I was going to order the day that the banks opened. But then I had my eye on a '10 that was exactly that, minus the Saddle (had Dark Charcoal) and Brembos obviously. So I was waiting...

Then...well...see the Off Topic Chatter section for what happened. I won't be buying a new Mustang any time soon. Oh well. By the time I'll be able to afford the insurance (after I get a new job) we'll probably have flying cars! Still keeping my fingers crossed though, hoping for the best, prepared for the worst.
