Seriously-How many going with Glass Roof?
I ordered the glass roof. I've been driving muscle/sports cars with glass T-tops/targa top since 1987 and I love being able to look up and see sky. Rain or shine, day or night, I love it. And the Mustang's glass roof has more square footage of glass than any of my previous cars, so it should be even better. I can live without the removability of T-top/targa but having a transparent roof is really a must for me. When my wife replaces her Dodge Durango in a few years she wants a Ford Edge and one of the reasons is the Vista Roof option.
Neither could I at first but it's worth every penny. Best part about my '10. I chime in on every one of these glass roof threads just to help any new owners debating about the cost of it. If I had to do it over and had to choose the electronics pkg or the roof I would take the roof every time. When I ordered mine it was a last second "oh well I've already spent this much might as well go all out". Now it would be the very first option I'd want on a new one (besides the 5.0 of course)
Getting the glass roof.. it's one of the bigger motivators for me to upgrade from an '08. (Glass roof wasn't available on job 1 '08)
It's not about the ability to look up and see sky while you're driving - that's silly. It's about seeing more of the world in your peripheral vision.
Why does anyone opt to upgrade their interior? We don't stare at the interior all day - we look out the windshield while driving. But to alot of us, it still gives us enjoyment to have a nice interior to exist in.
Same idea with the glass roof.
(Also, sidenote: I regret not having a glass roof every time I pull up to a light and I have to duck under my windshield to look up and see when it turns green, because they painted the line too close to the light - and I stupidly drove all the way up to the line..)

...what a funny thing to say- but I do this all the time! Pull up to where it's hard to see the light sometimes. Yeah, didn't think about that but it would be easier to see the light change..
Plus, the peanuts gallery (my kids) would let me know too from the rear seat if i'm not paying attention listening to my shaker 1000- something to think about...

I'm sure they thought of the UV impact to the interior, right? Remember pre-90's cars that suffered from really bad sun-fade on the interiors? Having everything in a greenhouse just seems to invite problems unless you're a florist.
Welcome to the 21st century.
Why do people constantly come up with ridiculous reasons to discredit the glass roof? It really is boggling.

I will have the shade closed in the extremely bright sun - will mostly be used during the morning/evening commute and at night...can't wait
Yes the Glass roof is expensive, but I wanted it every since I saw it a few years ago. You only live once, so I ordered the glass. Doubtful this car will ever see the track. I usually go to car shows and the roof will give me a few more points.

Yeah - I think it comes down to if you want it great - if not great...don't think people that are already ordering one are going to be convinced not to get it because they are worried about softball size hail & lightening strikes taking you out while driving
Pretty much the only valid reasons to not get the glass roof are "it's too much money" and/or "it's not worth the money to me".
Both very valid reasons, and more power to you.
Hail breaking through the glass and killing you; magic human-seeking lightning going through the glass and killing you; turning the car into an oven, killing you; the glass melting in "massive" 130 degree heat, dripping molten lava onto you and killing you; shattering into a million razor-sharp pieces, cutting your jugular (and junk) open and killing you...
You might laugh, but I have SEEN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE postulated as reasons the glass roof is bad and will kill you and you shouldn't get it. Anybody with a f***ing shred of intellectual and analytical capability (and even the slightest inkling for basic research) will know in about six seconds that all those theories are pure, unadulterated, high clarity, USDA Grade A bull****.
Seriously.
Here, I made a flowchart for all of you. Hopefully you will find this very... illuminating.

J/K, I'm surprised you're able to post so often being deployed. How's the bandwidth out there?
Thanks for your service anyway.

Now that is awesome! I love the glass roof. I just don't know if I'll be able to afford it. If I can work it out, it will be on my Mustang!
