The DORA indicates that Ford has received the dealer order.

What is shows:

Date order processed

Vehicle options and prices
Priority (not sure what it means though)
Assembly plant (may be blank)
Scheduled date (may be blank)

Man i wish i knew how this whole thing worked, has anyone been able to find a detailed write up about all of these steps and how they work?
In regards to VIN numbers. The only cars to get VIN numbers from what I see, are retail GT500 orders. That said, they aren't building GT500s right away. I think Ford is just getting the allocation of retail GT500s out of the way so dealers know where they stand with them. I have not seen any retail V6 or GT orders with VIN numbers yet.

Hey Scott, when I get a schedule date, its added to the updated run-off sheets that show all my orders for every car.

In regards to priority. What this is, is the priority of when the dealer wants the factory to pull the order. 10 is the best, then 11, and so forth higher. Anything between 10 & 20 is good. 01-09 is reserved for factory reasons. (when they get ready to schedule retails, they "01" an order and a VIN is usually soon to follow). So any retail order that was "01'ed" will be scheduled as soon as Ford allows retails to be serialized.

For everyone to know, priority numbers cannot be repeated. What I mean on this is, if you have several orders in, both cannot be a 10. This will only confuse the scheduling department. For the orders I have from all the TMS members, the priority numbers are 10, 11 (for the GT500), 12, 13, & 14. The other 2 GT500s I have in the system are 15 & 16 since these are not guaranteed as of yet (they are only guaranteeing 1 GT500 per dealer with a chance for more if the 1st car a dealer gets is sold quick). So on your order Scott, your priority is 14, as your the 5 person to order a car from me. 14 is fine, as any stock units are a higher number, usually in the 20s, as we want the retail orders built first. Now, with that said, Ford is not scheduling any retail GT or V6 orders yet. They will in a few weeks time once system fill is done. Hope this answers the question on priority codes. If anyone has any questions, let me know.

Then I gotta go change the equipment to better suit our needs for stock units and/or assign a slower priority code to Ford's Z orders so that my orders get pulled first. Arghhhh.

I think Skotty may be right about Ford holding off on GT's until all details are ironed out. I think Ford is still waiting for final EPA certification for fuel economy. Not sure of any other potention hold ups.
Hey Brian, I hear ya on SIMS!! We call is Stupid Inventory Management System, lol! While I don't order all the cars, just the Mustangs, the fleet manager who does order the vehicles here absolutely hates SIMS!!! Its rediculous!!!

Oh, and Ford gave us a "Z" number car too. At least for us, its built right. A 202A Pony Package V6 with the right equipment in black. Not bad.

I am new to the entire thing with allocations. My dealer has sold 2 GT 500's every year from the start. This year they have Two retail orders the service manager for the dealer ordered one and then a week later I went in and they ordered me one. Sales manager told me he only has the one allocation right now per his rep. When should I find out if I will get a car built, any educated guesses? Sales manager feels I have a 70% chance of getting a car by August. This dealer is the second largest in the area, but they sell mostly trucks (farm country).

I'm a little frustrated with the whole process of ordering. First I call the dealer that I order my 05' from and the dealer close to my house (NW suburbs of Chicago) that does my service. One takes a week to call me back and the other never does. In between that time I find another dealer who puts my order in quickly, gives me a good price but when I look at my vehicle order confirmation (I haven't asked for a DORA yet) the priority says 80. I ordered at the end of Jaunary and didn't even think to look at the priority until I saw this thread. I'm still enjoying my 05 so I'm not in any huge hurry but I didn't think I'd have a problem getting one early with the state of the auto industry, etc. Is this something I should talk with them about?

I went through a lot of stress in 05' trying to get my GT, cancelling an order that was taking way to long and finally finding a dealer who shipped one up from a Mississippi dealer that just happened to be exactly what I wanted. I don't want to have to go through that again.

This board was a huge help back then and still is now.

The Vehicle Order Confirmation and the DORA are different. My VOC had a priority of 99, even though it was Order Number 0001, but my DORA (which is more accurate) has it at 15.

They did that on mine also, i think when they are playing around in the system they always set a priority of 99, but the DORA priority is what counts, and mine showed the real priority on the DORA also.

Am I the only one that has 01 as the priority for a GT? Could that be right? Getting this from the DORA.

My sales guy just called and he said Job 1 was delayed by 1 week to the 22nd. Also, I'm not in the first four weeks production yet, but neither is any of the other customers from this Dealership, which is one of the largest in North Texas. Anybody else heard anything?

The Ford Build Out and Start Up Timing bulletin dated 2/22/10 says the new production start date for the Mustang is 3/22/10. What's another week to a Mustang guy?

I got all numbers... it is ending with 51025xx
I am not given full VIN number online.
I also got a scheduled date of April 5th.
I guess this is the build date (for GT500)
My order is a retail order.

Christen, its Jeff. They pulled the retails to put into the system, and gave alot of them 01s. But they will not schedule retails for a few weeks. Once they do, I should get VIN number for you car and the others pretty darn quickly.

Hey bud, see my reply in the other thread where you asked the same question. No retail orders (other than GT500s) are being scheduled right now as they are only doing System Fill for stock units the first few weeks of production.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does "stock" mean? I get that "retail" means a car ordered directly from the customer, but are the options on the "stock" cars chosen by Ford? By the dealer?

"stock" are the cars ordered by the dealer for their inventory
