Scheduling

The scheduling of 2011 Mustangs was supposed to start on 2/11. Has anybody got theirs scheduled yet? I noticed that the production start date has been pushed back a week to 3/22.

I heard they will be doing a couple weeks of dealer stock builds before starting on the custom orders.

Ford decided to pull one of our stock V6 Mustangs instead of scheduling one of the several special order GT's we've ordered.

I ordereded mine (Prem V6 MT MCA HID SEC) last Thursday.

Sales Manager sent me an e-mail yesterday stating (per his rep) the earliest mine would be scheduled would be April 12th with a delivery of late April early May.

This was good news to me as I was hoping to see it around May 1st ... end of May at the latest.

They also put in a Stock Order for a GT later that same day, so it will be interesting which car comes in 1st.

Doug

Same in our region Brian. Letter from the Northeast Scheduler for Ford. All retail orders are not being used for system fill. They pulled 2 stock V6s we added in, and also balked us another V6 on top. The GTs I have in there are not scheduled yet, but will be soon as per what Ford is telling us.

Hey bud, do you have a VIN number? Did they give you a copy of your DORA? Just curious how they did that as no retail orders are being built yet.

Any chance the GT's are delayed a bit (perhaps to iron out a few remaining kinks), so they are filling V6 orders first?

I'm just lovin' the new SIMS ordering on Mustangs - NOT! I put in my orders ahead of time (for stock) and Ford still enters their "Z" orders on top of that (even though the ones I built ahead of time meet all commodities). Then I gotta go change the equipment to better suit our needs for stock units and/or assign a slower priority code to Ford's Z orders so that my orders get pulled first. Arghhhh.

I think Skotty may be right about Ford holding off on GT's until all details are ironed out. I think Ford is still waiting for final EPA certification for fuel economy. Not sure of any other potention hold ups.

That was a pretty cool video, thanks! How long after the build date should people start expecting their retail order to arrive at the dealership?

So who has recieved thier full VIN?

I called my dealer today and he gave me a lil part of the win but left out the last 7 digits.

Should he be able to tell me when it's going to be made?

Man i wish i knew how this whole thing worked, has anyone been able to find a detailed write up about all of these steps and how they work?
