Saturday Night Cruise-Ins
Finally got to detail my 'vert today for only the second time since I bouhgt it almost 2 months ago. She was looking good, so I figured I'd see if I could find any cruise-in action.
The weather was perfect tonight; clear and 76 to 80 degrees, and the 5.0 was sounding great. Yeah, it's much easier to love the 'vert under such circumstances! Ahhh.....
Unfortunately, there was hardly anyone at the normal cruise-in spot. I saw multiple convertibles of all makes out on the street, but there was only about 3 or 4 Mustangs (two '65 'verts, plus a '71 Mach-1 that I recall, plus a totally stupid (meant in a good way) Mitsubishi Evo that was modded to 33 psi boost and just today was dyno'd at 563 WHP. (Rear WHP? How DO they measure those all-wheel drive cars? I forgot to ask the guy).
Dunno why the cruis-ins are dry lately (they have been all summer here), but it was still a fun evening to drive around. Anyone else enjoying their 'verts or coupes on a Saturday evening?

He has just four cylinders and that's a low WHP number? Over 560? Yeah 33 psi is a LOT but so is 560 out of just 2.2 liters (or whatever the displacement is). He said that the newer cars with the aluminum blocks (his is iron) can't come close to the pressure he is running.

Don't fret over xx psi numbers.

I meant for an Evo, if he's really running that much boost. But then it depends on the dyno, weather, tune etc. Yeah he has a small engine, but I cousin used to work at a local speedshop which specialized in Evos and Subarus. I'd like to know more about that car, just for kicks.
