I'll also throw in the fact that by default Roush offers the 3 / 36 warranty on there parts only on there Stage 1 through 3 kits they only offer the power train warranty on there stage 1 kit and like stated in prior threads, that's retroactive to the day the vehicle was driven off the lot & must be installed by a authorized installer & must use the Roush tune, it also cost $300 + dollars extra (you order the drive train warranty from Roush online). I don't think anybody offers a power train warranty without a extra cost
Roush comes in 3 stages:
Stage 1 - appearance package
Stage 2 - you get stage 1 and suspension package
Stage 3 - you get stage 1 & 2, plus the HP bump to 575 (blower, tune, exhaust, etc)
Stage 3 there are 3 different phases:
Phase 1 - baseline blower pulley and tune gets you 575 HP
Phase 2 - smaller pulley and more aggressive tune gets you 625 HP
Phase 3 - recommended by Roush to only use the Ford Racing Aluminator motor, gets you 675 HP
With the Phase 1 I received a full warranty to cover the power train for 3/36...covers not only the Roush parts, but full power train as well...at least that's what my dealer told me...maybe I should double check

Are you talking about a new Stage 3 on a dealers lot? If so, you may be correct...I think a new Stage 3 is only delivered to the dealer with the Phase 1 tune of 575/505.

This is what I was referring to on confusion about Stage and Phase...GT50Go was using the wrong term.

Stage 2 - 625 (crank) 3/36 parts warranty only (w/Roush tune)
Stage 3 - 675 (crank) 3/36 parts warranty only (w/Roush tune)
My stage 2 dyno'ed at 526 RWHP / 442 TQ with the conservative Roush tune. I have not put it on a dyno since updating the tune but am going to soon, I'm expecting between 590 ~600 RWHP.

If you go to the Roush Performance website it clearly describes what you are trying to state...upgrade your 5.0 with their kits and it comes in "Phases"
Phase 1 is 575
Phase 2 is 625
Phase 3 is 675
It's a lot of Stages and Phases, but bottom line is you get some pretty good power from your 5.0
Phase 1 is 575
Phase 2 is 625
Phase 3 is 675

Yes, phase 2 625 HP and phase 3 675 HP are aftermarket upgrades, you don't get a RS3 delivered with anything but the phase 1 575 HP level tune.

See? You learn something every day. I didn't know the Phases were aftermarket.
Anyways to my original question, it just seems dumb to me. Maybe I'm missing something. But the Roush tech I talked to said the 575/505 hp/tq kit would only be good for 3yr/36,000 miles with the optional 375 dollar "warranty package" or whatever they refer to it as. The reason I think it's dumb but the Stock RS3's come with the blower/tune at 575hp/505tq factory(correct me if I'm wrong) and they come with a 5yr warranty from the factory that way. As far as I know the 575hp RS3 cars internal wise, etc are identical to say a GT 5.0L so why cut 2 years off the warranty if you have Roush install it? Just seems dumb.

Maybe it's just a business decision on Roush's part.
Second question. Is there anyone out there that has put the TVS 575hp blower on their GT or RS1/2 cars BEFORE their warranty was up? Any problems with them mechanically? Maybe I'm just being too particular but part of me is wanting to just say screw it and put the blower on it now and take the 2 year hit. I imagine if something catastrophic were to happen, it'd happen in the 3yrs they warranty it.

And you're right, the 5.0 is stock...verified thru conversation with Roush tech line conversation.

Well close, I waited a little over a year from date of purchase on my 13 GT to give the car a shake down time then had the Roush phase 2 SC (625 Crank) installed. I had the SC installed with the Roush tune for a month then put the Brenspeed 710r tune on it and so far no issues. So for me warranty is pretty much out the window for drivetrain, and I'm under no illusions if something goes wrong you've got to pay to play!!!! With Roush's reputation and not abusing things I'm pretty confident I won't have any major issues. Here's the link to my thread when I installed the SC. https://themustangsource.com/f800/im...ed-now-524311/

Yes I can especially in the upper RPM range. It's still VERY drivable. I'm looking for a local dyno shop just to see what the real jump in HP is from my original dyno with the Roush tune. The shop that did the install charges to much for a single dyno pull (crazy).
I'll do a post and PM you with my results when I get it done. I travel for work a lot so who knows when.....

Or you could just buy a Shelby and have 600rwhp warranted from the get-go.
Then, if you REALLY wanted to, just add some long-tubes, a pulley swap and a Lund tune--and a really hefty savings account for tires--and you're sitting on almost 700rwhp with the engine not even trying hard.

Add long-tubes, etc... and there goes the warranty

And the factory 5/60 powertrain warranty is replaced by the Roush 3/36 warranty.
The engines are stone stock internally.
The reason the warranty coverage is reduced is because it is SUPERCHARGED and the motor is not specially built for it and the stress on the components is higher and of course the owners for the most part don't pussyfoot them around.
If you were Roush you wouldn't give a better warranty either. It's actually amazing that the warranty is as good as it is considering the nature of the application.
