Recaros + Helmet = Pain in the Neck
Am I the only person with a long torso who finds that wearing a helmet in the Recaros forces their head to sit too far forward and tilt down? I hate that the seatback kicks forward above the harness holes.

Curved Seat Backs
I'd like to choke the **** out of the moron that designed the forward curving seat back. They are damned uncomfortable and I can see how a helmeted driver would hate them. Greyhound bus seats are of the same style. I suspect it's nothing more than a lame attempt to replace headrests. If that's the actual reason, and I think it is, the designer grossly failed.

Haven't tried sitting in my car with my helmet on yet, might have to do so tomorrow though and see if I have this issue too... have not seen many complaints over on the Boss forum though. I'm not expecting to have issues in my car, but will find out!

That made me curious so I just took my helmet and went and sat in my car with stock seats. I keep the headrest adjusted all the way back. Close, but no problem.

I will check too. I keep a very upright position, so I think I'll have an issue, but will wait to see first. The one reason I got the Recaros was for the very reason of additional headroom with the Recaros than the stock seat. This would torque me off if is too uncomfortable. I check back with results...

Reclining the seat back means you have to move it closer to the steering wheel, which can be especially problematic in Solo II racing.

I don't want to recline my seat back any more because I don't like having my arms fully outstretched. If I do that, I'll have to move the bottom up to get my arms where I want them for full control, at which point I may have a knee/column interference when I turn my leg over to heel/toe. This problem would go away with a telescoping wheel, but that's not happening any time ever. For drag racing, it would be fine, but if I want to do an HPDE, where I have to be constantly turning my head, I may run into problems. I'm using an older HJC motorcycle helmet, so I may need to just get a new helmet anyways.

Many compromises have to be made in car design, cars have to fit many different size people and meet many regulations.
It is what it is, live with it or get to work changing it to suit you.

Just tried my helmet sitting in my recaros. I see what you guys mean with the forward sloping, however sitting comfortably I'm about 1/2" from the back of the seat or just barely touching. Just happens to fit me very nicely, so no complaints at the moment.

I prefer open-face helmets. Racequip and Pyrotech make nice ones for reasonable money.
