I guess if you want to drive one of the best Mustangs ever built then you will have to get used to it.

Actually no you don't. Personally I couldn't sleep at night knowing I had a car with that ugly a rear parked in my garage. I can always change it. There is already new rears that improve it by a wide margin. Saleens new rear is a HUGE improvement. Of course that is all subjective. Personally given the funds i'd just have my own design done.

Always well spoken and great points. The only thing I'd rather have seen on the 05-09's were the tail lights going across the entire rear like the concept...

I think the blackout panel helps on these, as it breaks up the bulk.

Sorry, the 2010 - 2011 rear end just does not look right, as in, it just does not fit well into the overall design. The tail lights appear "forced". The 2005-09 may look boring to some, but the design is MUCH better integrating with the rest of the design.

Boy, those colored iterations look like baby ate a whole lotta Gerbers and those diapers are in dire need of a changing.

Rear end looks okay to me. But just okay. I like the sequential turn signals. I also think it looks better in person than in pictures.

ok I'll toss this in
Heres you can see the Chally, camaro and both of the new stangs 05 and 11
The problem with the rear IMO is this

Challenger..absolutly perfect. Angle slide under the bumper giveing the car a raked vibe and no diaper. Just fast undercuts

Camaro... slight diaper action but most angles still lean in on bottom edge still going for that raked look. and fast under cuts

2005 mustang... Probably the best rear next to the Challenger. All angles lean in on the bottom edge for a fast rake. Slight kick out for details sake.

2011 GT500... worst offender of the diaper look. Most of the angles on the bumper/rear angle out on the bottom and lean in on the top..from the side this does not in anyway do anything for the car other than load up the bottom edge of the bumper where they made the crowning glory. A fat fussy black plastic skirt that stick out even further than the rest of the bumper.

From the side even the camaro looks cleaner

But the chally is just magnificent in how they designed that rear end.

Of course this is all subjective..just my 2 cents

I couldn't agree more which is why I traded my '05 Mustang GT for the 2010 Mustang GT. That '05 rear was just too plain jane for me. i couldn't sleep at night with it in my garage

Wow, yeah, that's just... man! Really? Keep you up at night? I guess it could be worse -- it could have the interior of the upcoming Charger!
