Here`s what I`ve done

 

I don't think either look great, but the '10 rear really highlights how boxy and bland the '05-'09 rear was.

 

I never noticed there was that much black plastic. I might have to ge the car in black to hide it now lol.

 

Painted and lowered looks good

 

I like the 10+ rear. It grew on me after a couple of months.

 

Is that side exhaust a photochop or is that real?

 

What kind of rim is that?

I had an '05 Mustang GT and now I have the 2010 Mustang GT.... I like the rear of the 2010 better and I also am an ***-man...

 

That looks 100x better IMO. That other post with the body kit looks like crap.

 

I'm still not a fan of the rear end at all. I'm glad it is growing on other people, but I've seen it in plenty of pictures, videos, and in person and it just doesn't look right to me. I don't mind the tail lights, it's just that big hunk of black plastic I can't get over. While it sounds like some of you are learning to accept it and move on, can we all really honestly say we wouldn't change a thing about the rear end? You guys really think Ford couldn't have done a better job? Really...?

That said, I don't think it is going to stop me from getting a 5.0, but I am PRAYING that someone comes out with an aftermarket fix. Why can't someone make something similar to the attached photo of the Saleen? Actually, why didn't Ford just do this in the first place? It looks so much better. Get rid of the tailpipes on the Saleen for some nice round pipes and and it would look perfect. Maybe tone down the black center part a bit if I had to be picky. But overall it just looks nice and clean.

It seems like pretty much every 2010 review I read referred to the questionable styling of the rear end, and I've talked to a lot of friends and family that agree (including plenty of non-Mustang and thus non-biased people). So while it is great that some people are learning to like it, us hold outs that still hate the styling are anything but alone.

 

Kind of stupid to compare stock with questionably modified. In any case, the more 10's I see on the road, the more I like the 05-09. It's cleaner and more aggressive, destined I believe to be a future classic. The '10 is still a very nice car, but looks meek and anonymous from the front and looks awkward and asian from the back by comparison.

I am talking GT vs GT. If we are talking 6's I actually prefer the new body style.

 

I love how when the plastic fascia was on the rear of the 2007-9 GT500 no one noticed.

 

I've always thought the rear of the 10+ was significantly shapelier and more interestingly styled than the 05-09s. Granted, I still loooove my 06, but i've always thought the car's rear end was pretty plain looking compared to the rest of the car.
