RAMP 51

So where is this famous RAMP 51....
All this talk about it and can't find anyhing on the net.

I decided to go into CIA mode and do some areal reconnaissance.
And this is what I found.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=42.105...7&z=15&iwloc=A

You will see Rail and CarCarrier docks stations.
Not to mention the hundreds of Stangs strewn about.
This is where it all begins.

Zoom in on the parking lots directly North and South of the big white building in the middle.

Well a RAMP something anyway.
51 is gotta be in there somewhere.
Too bad they're not marked.

mystery solved....mystery....

The parking lots at the top of the picture is staging area for car shipment:
Mustang VPC
22400 Vreeland Rd
Woodhaven, MI

The plant across the street (down) is the AAI plant.
Auto Alliance International Plant
1 International Dr
Flat Rock, MI

Here is a Google Earth picture showing both the Auto Alliance International Plant in Flat Rock, MI (1 International Dr,) and Mustang VPC in Woodhaven, MI (22400 Vreeland Rd.)

I'm going to visit next summer. My girlfriend's brother-in law retired from there last year. I think he was a maintenance welder.

Isn't the yard to the north of the assembly plant for Mazdas and the yard to the south for the Mustangs?

I placed the addresses in my post so that anyone that wanted a better view could type them into Google Earth or Google Maps.

I am not sure what Mustang VPC is, but I will give it my best guess.

Mustang Vehicle Processing Center

If anyone knows for sure, please post the correct answer.

Shelbys' go thru the VPC 'Ramp' . I believe the cars that get one of the body appearance packages also go thru VPC.

If you look at the window sticker that is attached to the window, on the lower left hand corner box it has Mustang VPC along with an address. When you look up that address in Google Earth it shows the vehicle storage lots and road and rail head used for transportation.

From what I have read, the GT500 stripes are applied in a separate room or building in the Flat Rock AAI plant.
Maybe someone who has been on the plant tour can confirm the location of the building where the stripes are applied?

Picture must of been taken in 2011. You can see both styles of Shelby stripes, but no Bosses and no yellows or greens.

VPC stands for Vehicle Personalization Center. If you get an ascessory package (bigger spoiler, side scoops, etc.) or over-the-top stripes, the car goes through the VPC. These are not installed on the normal production line.

Here is a picture from Google Earth that shows the Mustang VPC facility.
This facility is shared with Mazda, so some of the buildings and parking lots are theirs.

Is the building or room that does the stripes and such, located in the Flat Rock Plant or the shipping center in Woodhaven?

I ask because the window sticker lists the address of Mustang VPC as:
22400 Vreeland Rd
Woodhaven, MI

After doing some research, it appears that Mustang VPC is located at the Woodhaven facility across the road from AAI. Can anyone point out the VPC building?
