radio screen
radio screen
So here's the deal. I picked up my 11 5.0 half way home i realized the radio screen was all scrached up. Like the detailer took a rag off the ground and wiped the screen. Well I called the dealership and gave them hell. They still would not do shot about it. They said we'll see if we can get it under warrenty. So im taking it in to try it but if it doesn't work any have any suggestions? The scratches are to creep for a little compound.
Same problem here was wondering if anyone has a solution. I tried plastic polish, it worked really well on the instrument cluster, but the radio screen is still screwed up. My plan is to get the scratches out and then install a screen protector. First off how to get the scratches out?
That radio screen is the most fragile thing in the history of the world. My car had 20 miles on it and I cleaned the screen and it scratched it to hell. The best thing to do is get a protective screen cover for like an ipad or the like (I ordered an anti-glare kindle screen) and cut it down to size to cover it. The scratches will disappear under the cover. I think the reason that "customer removal only" sticker is on the radio is because they know if the dealer takes it off and tries to clean it they will only scratch it.

Search for threads on here about this guys. I've seen tons of topics with this title. Maybe somebody found a solution. I have no sympathy since I have the nav screen

Hopefully there's a fix because that would annoy me

Here is what someone dod on another forum http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...lay-glass.html
There's a post on here about this. There is a link to stuff you can buy. Pretty sure it comes with stuff to take out the scratches & then stuff to use that maybe keeps them from happening again? Or just not as bad? Let me see if I casecond it. Thought I bookmarked it, couldn't find it.
Found the thread. Pretty sure it's @ janvil.com? Page won't open for me.

Search the 2010+ Mustang forum for radio scratch and you will find earlier posts on this issue. Mine got scratched during a detail after I TOLD the guy NOT to touch it. Going off the advice on this forum, I bought an iPad screen protector and applied it to the scratched (but otherwise clean) radio screen behind the bezel.
To get to the radio screen, unscrew the gearshift ****, lift up the center console, unplug its electronics, lift out the radio bezel from the bottom, unplug its electronics, and follow the screen protector instructions. There was a YouTube video of a guy doing these steps. It's EASY.
After drying for 24 hours, the scratches were not visible. The screen protector has an orange peel texture that is not objectionable to me. The screen protector has not scratched since I applied it, but if it does, I have enough spare film to do at least two more applications.
IMHO, this should be the first mod a new owner does.
