QDC fluid better than QS for poor shifters due to enhanced friction modifiers

I was talking to my local Ford tech during my last free oil change and we started talking about the QDC fluid for the cold shifting TSB. He stated the QDC fluid had better friction modifiers than the QS in addition to being lighter. He said folks that are not good at rev matching shifts may find the QDC works better for them, since the synchros can rev match better due to the enhanced friction modifiers. Although QS has some suspended modifiers, it is still slicker and makes it harder for synchros to do their job during severe rev. match disparities. This seems to make sense to me.....Thoughts?

I can only speak for myself, as I have said before. I had no problems with my MT-82, with the exception of difficult cold shifting from 1st to 2nd, during last winter. I had the TSB fluid change completed almost a month ago, and the shifts, when cold, it has been down to 28 a few times, has been great. No more double clutching or second gear starts. No noise from the tranny, so far. I am waiting for the severe cold to move in, when it is -10 or -20F, then the real test begins. So, what the tech told you may well be correct.

I still had some grinding after the change over but now have about 4,000 miles on it. I have driven the car to work a few days in last couple of weeks including today. It was high 30's and the grinding has seem to gone away. But still have very knotchy shifting and trouble at times getting into first gear even when at a complete stop.

I had the TSB done when it came out. Made for better changes when cold, but still notchy when changing gears and needs a little help to select 1st when engine / oil is still cold.

Drove the car through a good temperature range this year from -20c to +35c and I'd say it's better than it was but not perfect by any means especially compared to other transmissions I am used to.

I had mine done about two weeks ago and it's been down to the low 40's a couple times, which was enough to make it really notchy prior to the service. It certainly seems better now, but this is my first manual transmission car so I don't have other experience to compare this to, other than my girlfriend's 2000 Accord which has zero issues shifting at any temperature and is still on the original clutch with 148,000 miles!
