GREAT LOOKING TRUCK. Wife loves her tundra, though I think my sync has her talked into replacing it with a f150 in a few years. It's up to her.

I was initially contacted by Carlos A. with the internet sales department. He was with a client when I got there so I was handed off to Sherman and Jeff, two 60 year old car salesmen who were funny as hell and absolutely ready to make a deal on a car.

I completely enjoyed the experience and they had just the right car for me. The car I test drove was a race red 5.0 6m with no electronics package. I went kona because it had the electronics package along with a couple of little things, I didn't necessarily want, but knew I would enjoy.

Just call Galpin and ask for Carlos in internet sales. They will connect you right up with him. Let him know that Eric "From Bakersfield" referred you.

Thanks for the info. I think I will wait for a good deal to come along. There are still some 2010 GTs sitting around. As time goes on I am sure the prices will fall.

Labor Day weekend should be a good time for a deal at Galpin, but if you can hold out until the week after X-mas, the deals will be even sweeter

Beautiful!!! I really like those Brembo wheels, especially the color.

We have a Tundra in the family too, 4x4 Limited Crewmax. Had a 2004 F150 FX4 that was a pretty nice truck, but couldn't get out of its own way. I'll consider another one once the 6.2 is in full force and proven!

When we first got the wife's tundra I came on several boards and said something to the effect of : Wow for 35k I got right at 400 hp & 400 # giant 14 inch front brakes and a transmission with more than 5 gears. Why can't I get a mustang like that for similar money. Of course I was universally harassed and told how much better the f150 was.

Well we drove the f150 the wife and I for that matter, found the Tundra to be a better fit for us. That said, my point was 400 hp big brakes and good build quality for 35k.

Well THANK YOU FORD!!!! Clearly they are aware that many people were looking for all of these things. I think the build quality of my new stang is FIRST CLASS. I happily have 400 ponies ready to do my bidding. Handling which dramatically exceeds my skill set, an electronics package which makes me feel like I'm commanding the bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise, and brakes that get me out of trouble should I make a mistake.

This car is one hell of a statement to the car world that FORD can create an affordable world class sports coupe.

Actually I drove a Tundra at the State Fair a couple years ago. They had a little track set up to let you experience acceleration, braking and then a little offroading. I was impressed. The interior was massive (though some controls felt cheap), it was quick as hell, stopped very well etc. But I could never bring myself to buy a Toyota product. Especially now, and there have been a few recalls on the Tundra, have there not?

The interior on the F150 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay nicer than the Tundra. Ford does such a nice job of blending non-plasticky looking materials, even if they are plastic underneath. Like the chrome accents, silver, etc. The Tundra is really just a sea of different toned plastics, faux wood, and a *ugh* painted dashboard, and it doesn't pull it off like the Ford does.

Ah, the recalls. Well, I didn't buy a Toyota because I thought they were reliable. I wanted it because I like the way it looked, it was fast, etc. I know most people do, though. I figure all cars break about the same amount, with a few exceptions that tend to break more (think Range Rovers, Jaguars, etc). Would you not buy an Explorer because of Firestone? I still would.

After owning a 2007 Tundra, 2008 Sequoia, and now the 2010 Tundra, I haven't had any problems *knock on wood* I've had my pedal shimmed and all that, but I also worried about spark plugs with my F150. So, six in one, half dozen in the other! They're just machines, assembled by people. They will never be perfect, and I'll never be loyal to any brand. That's why there's an extremely good chance that my next truck will be another F-150. I just buy what I like

Eric N., are you the American Karate Do guy that I airbrushed some lettering on a gee(sp?) for back in the '90s? I facebook friend requested you. I also am in Bakersfield and LOVE, LUST, NEED a Mustang.

I have been to Galpin a couple times and they were nice but do not seem to understand "I am just here to check out the GAS'ed mustangs, me no buying today..." next thing you know, I am driving a 2010 glass roof 5 spd and then sitting for 30 minutes while they run around to see if they can get it down to the ridiculously low offer I made. They were very nice, but not great deals on the 2010s, for all they still had. $300 over invoice did not sound like a deal to me on a 2010 in July with the 2011s sitting there taunting me.

Love your Kona Blue 2011. Hope to see it around town.

Steve

Well at least they gave you a price. The prices will drop as time goes on on the 2010s. I saw 1 on the website but was told I had to go down for the price. Also Sunrise ford was taking 4k off MSRP on the 2010 GTs. Galpin said they would match that if it was in writing. I told them that there was an Sunrise ad in newspaper and was told they were unaware of the ad LOL.

Hi Steve,

Nope I have a pretty big gym here in B-field where we teach Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, MMA and feature a brutal fitness kickboxing class. I've been running my gym since 84 and was professing the benefits of striking and grappling way way before ufc.

You should stop by my gym sometime. www.bakersfieldmma.com. My site is abismal and we are working on a new one, but it will give you some idea.
