Doing 45 in a 25. It isn't a residential road and they just changed part of the road to 35. I was honest with the guy and said I was going to fast but I also thought it was still 35mph in that area. He asked about my past driving record, took my DL and registration, and only came back with a warning. ![Headbang](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/headbang.gif)
I thought for sure I was getting a ticket.

i personally have grown a hatred to CHP. no warnings with them or letting you go regardless, straight up ticket. my sister was trying to get my nephew to his dr appointment that she was already slightly late to, the chipper told her "you're already late, so it's not a big deal now that you'll be even more late." to top it off, he cited her tints and the fact that she didn't have her license, the latter i understand, but she bolted out to take her kid to the dr.
local PD on the other hand much nicer. but well done in only getting a warning, only downside is now you have the warning so may not be so lucky next time.

Very lucky. I was doing 42 in a 25 once (curvy road classified as residential and I just wasn't paying attention to my speed) and got stopped. The officer gave me a break and only wrote me for 40 so I wouldn't get reckless and the additional fines that come with. I thought I was lucky then!
I definitely think being honest helps. I know some girls that can cry their way out of tickets, but for a dude it's best to just man up and admit you screwed up. Unless you can verify with certainty that you're the Officer's type.![Wink](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
