Thank you sir
I'm excited at the stop ship from a realistic point of view.
This Mustang is my dream- 400hp, 6spd, and aftermarket brakes. It's everything I want. Add to that basically no negative reviews from a reliable source and shipping out at the beginning of the second quarter... and it's too much bad assery going on. There's a fault SOMEWHERE- things don't go this perfectly.
So I think this is a good thing. A fault has been identified, making it 100x more realistic of a scenario. What's even better is that they found it before anyone took delivery, so no one is truly affected.
Waiting an extra week or two does not affect people. Having to return your brand new car for repairs to be performed by some jackass lube jockey at a dealer affects people (and their paint jobs.)

i had tried to convince myself to wait for job2 and take delivery around november
was hoping the economy would still be in the toilet and thought there may be incentives (there may)
but... the car is better than anticipated and i figured why wait?
this delay doesn't bother me one bit, i was expecting maybe to get it early in june
i ordered my car on 3/30 and got a VIN on 4/02 but it doesn't show a window sticker yet
only twist to this is that there are a lot of co-workers asking every day when they will get to see this bad@ss machine

When was it... 1999? When the Cobras were lacking the rated HP and Ford had to recall all of them and the 2000 Cobra was subsequently canceled? That problem was a manufacturing issue.
The 99 Cobra thing wasn't that big of a deal, IMO. At least, not from a consumer standpoint. Being short 10 to 15 HP isn't that much. But I guess it might have cost Ford quite a bit. I had a 99 Cobra and the recall ran like any other non-critical recall. I was contacted and asked if I wanted to schedule a time to have the recall parts installed. Best I can recall, it included a new lower intake and new exhaust. Dealership had it done in a day. I didn't really notice any difference after the new parts were installed. Would have needed a dyno to verify the change.

Some cars were down even more than 15hp though. I dyno'd my 98 Mustang Cobra and it made 264rwhp, my buddy who had a 99 Cobra dyno'd on the same dyno that day at 252rwhp. When he got the reacall done it totally woke up the car. The recall involved the lower intake due to casting flash, restrictive muffles and updated software.

the brake proportioning valve needed fine tuning
the GT got bigger brakes as standard and the brembos are now in a car weighing 300lbs less
the guys/gals driving the cars off the line probably had the nose of the cars sniffing pavement just breathing on the pedal and someone said "why are all these cars lurching around?"
